Ponchos on water rides?

I always get the ponchos from the dollar store for my disney trip and keep them in my bag! Even for the unpredictable weather, they're awesome to have just in case! I do wear them on water rides too. Wet clothes are the worst.

I usually have a poncho and depending on the weather/what I'm doing the rest of the day I either just sit on it or use it to drape over my purse and the front of me. I don't mind getting a little wet, but it's no fun being drenched.

Simple. When it's hot and I need a cool down, no poncho! When it's cooler out but I still want to enjoy the rides, poncho.

Hey guys so I know this question is a little dumb but I just wanted to know everyone's opinions on this! I've lived in Orlando for 15 years and am a local to the parks and I always see people from out of state wear ponchos on water rides and I didn't even realize this was something that a lot of people did haha! What do you guys do on water rides?! Poncho or no poncho!?
I wear a poncho on Splash Mountain because I hate walking around wet. My son doesn't care, though.

Yes, yes...I'm a wuss! I don't like walking around the park soaking wet! I am going to WDW in September and will be bringing poncho's with me for Kali...I've been on that ride with no poncho and totally regretted it. Some people actually LIKE walking around wet..why? just have a good time whatever you chose and think ahead about what you want to do.

For Kali and Splash Mountain, I usually wear a poncho. I don't mind being a little wet but I don't like being soaked even if it's hot.

I am apparently in the minority, but I thought that at least part of the point of water rides was to get wet. Besides, I have never seen a poncho that would fit into a pocket, and I am most definitely NOT lugging luggage around a park. To each his own, but I wouldn't be using a poncho.

There's been reports on the Theme Park forums, that Frozen Ever After has sped up, and water is now splashing into the ride cars. There's also been reports that the CMs in charge of that ride are relaying a strictly "no poncho" policy. And yes, people have been getting wet.

BF and I never used ponchos on any of the water rides. We did wear light material clothes though so it dried off completely in less than half an hour of walking around.

I would recommend switching from shoes to flip flops though.

I never used to wear a poncho on Splash until the time the boats got backed up for some reason and we were stopped by that stupid waterfall for 10 minutes. I've been drier in a swimming pool.
