Ponchos on water rides?

Hey guys so I know this question is a little dumb but I just wanted to know everyone's opinions on this! I've lived in Orlando for 15 years and am a local to the parks and I always see people from out of state wear ponchos on water rides and I didn't even realize this was something that a lot of people did haha! What do you guys do on water rides?! Poncho or no poncho!?

I do Poncho! the reasons? I still do get wet but not soaking wet enough to need a chage of clothes

It depends on the weather. We were at MK back in January and it was pretty chilly that day. We decided to wear ponchos on Splash Mountain to avoid getting very wet. It worked too! And the line for Splash Mountain was super short that day so we actually rode a couple times.

I pull out a rain jacket for Kali. Even in the heat of September, I wear a hooded sweater/jacket of some kind everyday in the parks so I just pull my hood up for Splash.

Splash, just hope for the best, never been soaked, never a poncho.
Kali, I will only go on it with a poncho. Preferable method is quick head over to AK before going to a water park so I already have on water ready clothes such as a cover up sundress on over my swimsuit which I then put the poncho on over.

I love using ponchos. I hate walking around the parks in wet clothes or having to carry them. Dollar store ponchos are great to bring along!

I HATE walking around the parks while wet, so I wear them. Mostly on Kali.

I only wear a poncho if it's very cold or if I'm going to be taking a lot of photos and want to look nice for pictures later in the day

I might get a poncho to sit on after seeing a poor lady emerge from Splash Mountain with a brownish wet stain covering the back of her white shorts!

I didn't mind getting the top or front of me wet, but getting my behind wet freaked me out a little (and I will never wear white anything to Disney!!!)

Before my trip last year, my sister told me they always wear ponchos on Kali and then give the ponchos to others after they've had their last ride, and that many others do the same thing. So we did just that, and glad we had the ponchos and those after us were also very glad.

We have used ponchos on Splash & Kali. I'm another one that does not care to walk around with wet clothes, especially wet undergarments!

I also change into a pair of cheap flip flops so my socks and shoes don't get wet. Although once I lost a sock in the process so make sure you know where your stuff is if you try that

ABSOLUTELY - every time. The water at Splash has been known to absolutely reek. My mother was drenched once on Kali and miserable in her soaking wet bra and socks & sneakers for the rest of the afternoon not to mention freezing whenever she encountered AC.

I loathe being wet in my clothes, but my wife loves the water rides. I have mastered the art of sealing myself in a poncho so none of my clothes (or hair) get wet. I always wear croc jelly sandals to the parks, so my feet getting wet are a non-issue. I am a very sad sight on the water rides, but I am happily dry after the ride is done.

I love this thread and had to add my two cents. On our first trip, DS and I innocently rode Kali, thinking "How bad could it REALLY be?" Once the ride was over, we became the proud owners of two new t-shirts and an AK branded towel. I'll take my chances on Splash Mountain, but on Kali, it's a poncho, every time. DS, on the other hand, now takes great delight in riding multiple times so as to get as soaked as humanly possible, which is why he is required to wear swim trunks on AK day.

I can't STAND walking around with a wet bottom all day. I'll even wear the poncho on just my lower half if I'm feeling really hot and want my top half cooled off. But always a poncho.

Poncho is a must for my family whenever we do Kali. Always love to hear some people in the line heading into the raft while we're exiting regret they don't wear one after seeing how bad they can get soaked and we're walking out dry

Absolutely on Kali and Splash Mt.
