Someone told me they don't allowe ponchos on the water rides at Magic mountain anymore. Does anyone know if it is allowed at Disney? I usually used them during the winter as I LOVE the ride but don't want to get soaked.

They allowed them in October.
Since we were staying at the Grand, we didn't bother wearing them.
After riding a few times and thoroughly soaked, we went to the room for dry clothes.

I like to us my DLR poncho when fishing in the spring rain.

At DCA they even sell them just before you get on Grizzly River Run. Totally ok at Disneyland.

Yeah they have them out at that place, and most places have them, but only put them out when it rains. They like magically appear everywhere. I've also seen people wear trash bags on GRR.

Magic mountain tends to be plagued with gang problems, maybe they are worried people are concealing things under the ponchos

Oh yeah. Probably worried about sub machine guns there. I've been there when the place seemed more like the county jail than a fun park.

Just wore them on Grizzly River on Saturday. You're good.

Do you always wear them? Personally I have a temperature/time cutoff. If its daytime and over about 80 degrees i don't wear one. But colder than that or if its near sundown i wear one.

It was never over 75 for us, so we wore it the whole time on the whole ride. If it gets over 80, then early in the day or afternoon, I sometimes won't wear it. However, the one time I didn't wear it, it soaked everything I was wearing. SOAKED. I had to walk back to the hotel to change. So now I at least have the poncho covering my pants.

It never fails that I am the one going backwards down the hills and a tidal wave breaks over my head. Ponchos are a must.

Thanks! Not sure how the weather will be yet, but I want to ride the ride no matter what!

One of our best DL/DCA trips ever was a day we went where it was absolutely POURInG down rain the whole day. We were all wearing rain jackets and ponchos and waterproof hiking or rain boots. I even had rain pants on. We were staying offsite and in the morning by the time we got to the shuttle pickup we were already soaked. By the time we get to the parks I asked the kids what they wanted to go on and they said Grizzly rapids. So i sid well we can't get any "wetter". We went straight to GRR, walked right on and the CMs just let us stay on the raft a few times because nobody else was in line except a few random people here and there.

By the way, i once had a large coleman poncho on and all tucked everywhere, sitting on it , etc but i had the hood down and tidal wave came over behind me like PP said and ice cold water down the back! Lol, the kids were laughing on that one.

Also note to the OP, if you aren't wearing flip flops or sandals, on the drops pull your feet up and put them on the middle "ring" or the edge under the seat to keep them up otherwise a "geyser" shoots up put the little vents on the floors and will drench your shoes. Have spent many a day in DCA with the old squishy-shoe.
