How do get into the resort just to catch the MK FW. We have a car and are not arriving until 7PM, This is our only hope to catch the FW. Do we say we are visiting foe a future stay? We are staying at CBR

I'm not sure what is proper or accepted...but I can tell you this, as a paying guest of the Poly, I would be disappointed if a non-poly guest took up the hammock or swing that I should be able to sit in to view the fireworks. I paid the price for this resort for this very reason, to have wonderful access to the MK fireworks.

Just my thoughts ;)

If you have enough time, you can make reservations at one of the Poly's restaurants and after dinner go watch the fireworks. In May at least, the firworks appear to only be on Saturday's (except the 3rd) at 9:00 pm.

You probably were not intending on using the hammocks? Just standing on the beach to see the fireworks?

I don't see why there is a problem with this... I would go and have fun.

Other option would to book a late time at Kona's for dessert and coffee after the fireworks... then you won't feel like you don't belong.

>>^..^<<

Other than July 4 and NYE, I don't think you would have a problem being on the Polynesian beach to watch the fireworks. It's not like the beach is totally packed out with people (except for two nights mentioned above).

As far as getting into the Polynesian, unless you make a PS for dinner there, you may have a problem getting into the Polynesian parking lot. However, the resort is very close to the TTC, and you could park there (basically, it's the MK parking lot) and then walk over to the Polynesian, or even take the resort monorail, though it would be a short ride. Make sure though, that you have first checked in to CBR so that you can get your parking pass, and be able to park for free in the lot.

Have a great trip!

Make a PS at Ohanas' for 8 pm, get there early, ask politley for a window table and let them know you will wait for one(never guaranteed). Then watch the fireworks from your table.

My personal feelings on this are, if you want to view the fireworks from a resort than pay for this priviledge, either by viewing them from the restaurant or by staying at this resort. When we began to plan our trip one of the main considerations for us was proximity to MK and to the fireworks. The Polynesian definitley provides this pleasure. Sorry, people may find my feelings rude, but I'm paying so why shouldn't anyone on that beach be doing the same?! Like I said before, I don't know the policy, so my feelings don't mean much, except personnally.

Kicker to OUR whole stay....there are no fireworks scheduled for our entire 8 days at the Poly. I'm sure some of you will be amused at this!

Tammy May 2 and May 3 are grad nights I believe and I've read that there are always fireworks for those so don't lose hope!

There is a sign that the beaches and pools are reserved for Polynesian guests but I agree that most nights it's not too crowded.

One problem you might have is getting into the TTC/MK parking lot that late... if MK is closed I don't think you can park there. (???) If you have dinner at the Poly that would probably be your best bet. ;) Or you could park at Epcot, take the monorail to the TTC and then walk to Poly.

 I'm confused. If MK is closed, how will they be having fireworks?

I was momentarily confused LOL :) I thought someone said it was a grad night??? That's why I was saying the park would be closed. But if it's just a regular park night then of course the parking lot is open.

You might have the best luck by parking at the Guest Drop Off 30 minute parking lot. Walk up to the Ferry Boat landing. That is an excellent area for viewing, as they even play the music.

Oh...grad night...DUH! :D I get it now!! Anyhoo...it dosen't sound like there will be many fireworks shows in May.

Best advice...listen to Tyler (Chip 'N Dale Express).

Thanks everyone we have decided to forego seeing the fireworks this year and stay at our own resort

BCV23,I'm new to Disney. You say it's grad night(s) May 2nd and 3rd...What is that anyway? Just curious.Debbie

Debbie I don't know much about grad nights other than quite a few are held and that it is an after park hours party at the MK for grads. I recently read that grad nights always include fireworks but don't know that of my own knowledge.

The MK closes early and the park is only open for the reserved grads. this runs quite late trough the night, usually it is pretty much local schools and doesn't affect the other parks or resorts

Gradnights are when high school seniors from around the state (I'm not sure if any come from other states) get the Magic Kingdom all to themselves. I attended gradnight when I was a senior and they are a blast. They have live bands but since it was ? years ago (won't mention that :)) I can't remember about fireworks. From looking at Disney's calendar it appears they are only having fireworks on Saturday in May except for the first weekend.

At the end of the day when you pay for a resort you are paying for:

1) Room Size and quality
2) Themes and Decor
3) Location
4) Amenities
5) Pool Access - no pool hopping allowed except for DVC and even for them not for SAB
6) Unlimited self parking for the duration of your stay incl arrival and departure date

Probably missed something

You are not paying for an exclusive gated community that others are not allowed to walk around or enjoy the sights which might include fireworks for example

Thanks
Jason

That may be true in part but there is a sign on the Poly beach that states it is for the use of Poly guests only. So you cannot hang out at the beach unless you are a guest of the Poly. That being said when we went in October to the Poly the beach wasn't crowded at all during the fireworks. There were plenty of chairs as most people just stood and watched the few minutes of fireworks. Even though it was only regular season the resort itself was at capacity due to the refugees from the CBR renovations. Even that went unnoticed. It was no big deal.

I hope they don't have the fireworks at midnight like they do for those private parties. One time when we were staying at the GF they were having some kind of private party at MK for pro golfers and when the fireworks went off at midnight both of my kids woke up.
