Hey Everyone,
Since this FTP came out I think I might be able to afford the Polynesian and was just wondering if you could tell me alittle about the resort. Also how are the garden views?? What can you see? I need a non smoking room due to my asthma so which is the best longhouse to stay in for that and a real good view. Also, do the rooms come with a balcony? Didnt they just refurbish the rooms here? Also do they have a 24 hr food court like the CR? and is there pool open 24hrs?? Anyway you could help make me trip better would be appreciated :D
Also does anyone have the link to Tikimans page???

Thanks

Congratulations on booking the Polynesian. Can't remember Tikiman's website...Tikiman.homestead or something. Someone will have it for you or try google.

Anyway, all first floor rooms have lanais or patios. Third floor rooms all have balconies. Second floor rooms in the three newer buildings have balconies but those in the older buidings do not.

Captain Cooks is open 24 hours. The pools are open 24 hours but the slide closes...don't remember what time. No lifeguards then either.

I have asmtha too. Just request non-smoking because of medical reasons. We have always received it.

The garden views vary in what you can see. Tikiman's site will help you a lot. The landscaping is extraordinary at the Polynesian.

Fiji is a non smoking building. From our balcony we could see the GCH, Tonga, Marina, Boat launch to MK, the CR, the lagoon, the EWP, and the Volcano. :) It's a great garden view! :)

I have questions about Fiji. Could you hear nois from the Luau at night? Could you hear noise from the pool?
Has anyone stayed at Samoa? How bad was the pool noise there? I am thinking of requesting one of these longhouses, but not if the noise is unbearable. I don't mind some noise, in fact, it adds to the atmosphere. But if the kids won't sleep because the noise is too loud, that would be a problem.

We stayed in Samoa last summer. I think it was room 3601. It was a third floor corner room and faced the volcanoe pool. Yes, you could hear noise from the pool but it wasn't that bad and usually ended by 10 PM. What we could hear (and it was rather loud) was the water pageant and the fireworks from MK. I really loved the location of Samoa - very close to GCH/Captain Cooks and the boat launch to MK.

We stayed in Samoa several times when our children were smaller. First few times we faced the main pool. It was never too noisy and was very convenient for little ones getting out of the pool. Our last stay or two in that building was on the other side facing the quiet pool. It is quieter on that side but like jadedNYer the noise on the other side was never bad nor late at night. The building has a great location. As close as Hawaii to the launch and a very short walk to the GCH. I've read that it is now all non-smoking so that would be a plus too.

We went to the Poly in 2001. We stayed in the Tahiti-top floor. It has a balcony and very quiet. My son has asthma too, and there was no problem. It was a bit far from the main area, but the walk was so beautiful through the grounds. You will love it there!:earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

You can hear the noise from the Luau, so if you plan on going to bed before it is over that could be a problem.
