We are going to use our points to stay at the poly. in Dec. Will we just get a basic room with queens or do you get a better room since we are DVC'ers?? We love the WL but have been there the last 3 times and need a change and we loved Poly. before the WL was built. Can we get a better roomview, like a pool view? We just got deeded May 23rd.

you are given a "run of the House" room, which means - what ever is available when you check in. I would ask at check-in if a pool room would be available, but you won't be guarenteed one.

I recall reading a post from someone who stayed at the Poly on points and got a concierge room.

I am sure it was awful and very disappointing

If your trip is early December, you may have a better chance at getting your requested location since the crowds are lower.

If you are going during Christmas week, better get ready for the old garden view.

BTW...the new volcano pool is GREAT. The slide is really fun. We pool hopped there last month one day and had a great time.

Actually we went last Christmas from 12/22-12/29. We drove in from North Carolina the night before and stayed one night a OKW (rented points from another member-think it might have cost us $60 for a studio, very good deal in my opinion) The next morning I got up very early around 7:00 a.m. and drove over to the Poly (hadn't even checked out of Old Key West yet). I then checked into the Poly. When I had made my reservation through guest services I had requested a Lagoon view and again requested that at the front desk. It took about 5 minutes for the girl at the desk to scroll through and find out what lagoon views had already been cleaned but once she did I got the key and was on my way (we ended up getting a lagoon view in the Tahiti longhouse across from space mountain and the Contemporary) so I went back over to OKW woke my sleeping husband checked us out and went back to the Poly. I like to think the fact that I got there so early had something to do with the great view. Anyways if you can get there early it's worth a shot!

never stayed at the Poly on points, but I have stayed at the GF three times on points! twice we got an awesome MK view, and the third time we got a great lagoon view!!!
I did request it Mk view both times we got it! and the time we got lagoon view, I forgot to request MK view, I only requested lagoon view!
but as you can see, each time my requests were granted!!!!!!!! Good Luck!!!!!!
