Polynesian Weddings

Has anyone gotten married at the Polynesian? If so could you post some pics here or pm me with them. We are trying to decide on the place where we want the ceremony to take place. I got some pics from the Vero Beach coordinator and they really didn't thrill us. Thanks for your help!

Sorry I don't have any pictures to show (have you check out the pics at disneyweddings.com ) you but I noticed in another post that you had listed 13 guests incuding yourselves. Just an FYI, the max. number for guests including the couple is 10. So your cooridinator might have you consider the other locations.

The site you are talking about is Sunset Pointe. I believe it is for weddings under 15 or so people (maybe even less). It is a cleared hill area that is on the beach and the view is of the castle. Actually my fiance proposed there and i have a pic somewher let me see if i can find one. there are some women here who have used this location and it is really stunning.

This is the only one I can find and it is not that great. i am basically standing on the beach looking straight ahead at sunset pt. (the green hill). To the left is the lagoon w/ the castle in the distance! There may be a better pic on disneyweddings.com.

We got married there on Dec 6th. It was PERFECT. You can't see the castle well in my pics, but you can see it very clearly at the site. Feel free to PM me if you want more info.

Melissa thank you so much for letting me see your pictures. They turned out really great! You looked so beautiful and Randy did a great job capturing your special day!!

I have a few questions. Where did you get your hair done? It looked great! Also, what time of day was your ceremony? I noticed in the pictures that there was hardly anyone around (on the beach, etc). It was nice because it didn't seem like you had gawkers - LOL !

As for the questions:

My hair and make-up was done by Lisa who did a fantastic job, she was super friendly, and efficent. She also did my mom's and with all the wind at Sunset Pointe, mom and I were the only ones with out hair blowing around, and it was still perfect when I took it down for bed. I'd totally recomend her.

We got married at 3pm, and there didn't seem to be anyone around, but there could have been millions and I probably wouldn't have noticed until I looked at the pics. hehe The way Sunset is set up your reeeally isolated, the beach is lower so even if there are 'gawkers' you wouldn't be bothered by them at all, and your EM will keep anyone away at a reasonable distance. It may have also been empty because it had been raining that morning so the beaches were wet, which would deter as well.

As for the cake, the one with the mickey and minnie topper was just flat white icing, I didn't like the look of the usual one, so I asked about upgrading it to the Mickey Head one and was turned down. They were however willing to flatten the icing though and it was very nice. Then we had the Yachtclub make the Mickey Head one for our dinner. So it was the best of both worlds because we ended up with 4 layers which ment 4 flavors sooo yummy.
