My husband & I need to change resorts. Currently we are staying at Beach Club, but we need to stay on a monorail resort.
We are torn between Grand Floridan vs Polynesian, where do we stay? We will be staying club level at either resort, if they will influence your opinion/answer!

Thank you!

Poly princess:

We've only stayed GV at the Poly so I can't comment on CL, but have stayed both SL and RPC at the GF and while I'm glad I was able to try SL, I really didn't care for it. The lounge is located right inside the lobby of the SL building and is small (IMO) for the amount of people that stay there (although the food offerings are the same in both SL and RPC). RPC, on the other hand, is amazing. The lounge is spacious with plenty of seating, the views are nice, and the CL CMs are great. With all of that said, if the choice is between GF RPC and Poly CL, I'd go with GF RPC. If the choice is between Poly CL and GF SL, I'd go with Poly CL. Good luck.

OP - When are you going? There are lots of rumors of DVC construction at the Poly beginning some time later this year or in 2014.

Staying on club level, whch we've done, makes no difference to us. We've stayed at both and prefer the Poly for a couple of reasons. One, the tropical relaxed atmosphere. Two, the easy walk to the TTC to catch the Monorail to EPCOT. At the GF, you either have to take a bus or ride the Monorail all the way around making 2 stops-MK and CR before changing Monorails at the TTC. We do, however enjoy eating at Narcoossees and Citricos at the GF. They are just a short Monorail ride away from the Poly, so that's no big deal.

I would choose the Poly. I find the parking to be much easier at the Poly and monorail access much better as well. I've never done CL at Poly (just Royal Palm Club at the GF). While we had a great time at GF (we bought DVC there) I think being able to watch the fireworks at the Poly CL would be fabulous! The Poly is my favorite resort hands down.

I have never stayed at Poly (find it way too dark), but have stayed at BC CL and GF RPC. I did not not like BC CL on many different levels. We do LOVE GF RPC .

The atmosphere is wonderful :goodvibes. The lounge are has plenty of seats and I love how open it is. We enjoy just relaxing at the lounge, hearing the orchestra or piano playing. We could see the fireworks for our room which my kids looked forward to every night and the CM's were wonderful. I can't see myself staying anywhere else.

We've stayed CL at GF (both RPC and SL) and Poly CL (Lagoon View). My vote is Poly. I just prefer the resort overall and like the amenities, location and theming of the CL lounge more at Poly. When we stayed GF RPC, our room was pretty far from the lounge - I never saw the CL desk, they seemed completely disinterested in us and the lounge seemed very run down to me. Poly CL, on the other hand, has a very accessible CL desk and the lounge is right above the CL lobby and the building is right next to the pool and the lagoon - location is perfect. I'd pick Poly - and if you prefer a quieter room, get Poly CL, Garden View (ask for 1st floor for patio or 3rd floor for balcony!)
