Hi, Disney Friends,

We will be at the Poly in just a few weeks and I had a question regarding room requests. We are booked in a Standard View with DVC and wanted to know if theirs anyway some standard rooms have a partial MK view and what building/floor. I've been trying to get a Lake View but it's booked solid. Also, any chances of upgrading once we're there?

Tokelau has a partial side view from some spots. You can also see the castle etc from the staircase at the end of the building.

If you're booked thru DVC, then there's no chance of an upgrade once you arrive. Ya gets what ya gets. Keep in mind that a standard view is exactly that - a standard view. Everybody and their dog wants the standard views that have a glimpse of the MK. Only a few will actually get them. If you have not done it already, it may not be too late to put in a wait list for a lake view but I would not hold out much hope for it filling at this late date. Anyone who cancels now would have their points go into holding, which is almost as bad as losing them completely.

There is very little chance of upgrade. If a unit were available you could book it. The DVC units run at 100% capacity.

Note that everyone requests the ~5 units in Tokelau with castle views. Almost no one gets the request.

We stayed in the Tokelau building last year and will request it this year. We had a room facing the pool... it was great!

This! We had a room in beach end of Tokelau on Hawaii side and if we looked to the right off balcony we could see the fireworks or walk to the end of the hall to staircase and watch. I think we were on 3rd floor.
