I am going to call the Poly soon to put in a different room request since samoa is closed :sad1: and it seems Tokelau is a desired longhouse...(Yes, I do know that requests are not guaranteed) I like the location of room # 1914 and #1915(corner rooms) and was curious if anyone has stayed in either one. If so, did you like it? I will have 2 little ones and also curious if you can enter and exit thru the patio doors with a stroller or just walking? Thanks! :wave2:

You cannot call the resort directly; you are sent to a call center that answers as if they are in the resort when they pick up that number.

They will go on the computer and pull up your reservation and place requests on your reservation. They aren't even anywhere near the resort - it is the same as calling reservations and putting your requests on your reservation. Best just to call reservations.

Also, if you ask for specific room numbers, when the reservation rolls over to the resort three to five days before you check-in, the room assigner won't know why you wanted the room and it will be overlooked.

Best to ask for a location and then "corner room", and list them in order of importance to you.

Yes, I do know that it is a call center. As far as requesting a room number, that is not completely true. Last year when I stayed here, I saw a room(Samoa Room# 1607) The view was dead center to the volcano pool. When I had put in my request I had listed:
Samoa
Ground floor
Volcano Pool Side
Room# 1607

When I arrived, they told me that room# 1607 was being occupied(I didn't even mention the room # to the CM checking us in) but we were put in Room # 1606

You most likely got room #1606 NOT because you requested #1607 - because as you stated that room was occupied. This is the most likely case if you request a specific room number. But rather because you requested "Samoa, Ground Floor, Volcano Pool Slide" and #1606 met those requests.
Requesting a specific room number, without the qualifying requests you really have, is folly.
Good Luck

And, yes you can leave through the patio doors if you do get a ground floor room but then you're leaving your room unlocked and accessible to anyone all day.
