Hello - has anyone tried the poly sushi yet? how is it? Is there anywhere to sit? Also, is someone making the sushi or is it pre-made? my family is big on special orders. I'm looking forward to trying this. the menu sounds good.

It took the place of the Coffee Bar, so it's got some barstool seating but it's pretty small. They have a good sized menu and make it right there, with access to the Kona Cafe kitchen of course. The full menu is also available at Kona Cafe.
We are not usually sushi eaters but we did have a crab cake roll which was interesting, tasty, and HUGE. It would definitely be a cheaper and filling place to have a meal if all the offerings were the size of the one we got (about 8-10 pieces).

I may be wrong, but I believe the coffee bar is still open in the mornings, while the sushi bar is open 5-9pm only.

The sushi bar has about 6 seats at the bar, and about 15 or so seat along the window. (sorry I didn't count, just guessing). 2 weeks ago, we had the tempura shrimp roll and something else (forget, as I didnt eat it). The tempura roll was good, but I made the mistake of comparing it to the one at CG....they are prepared differently and CG gets the edge. Everything was fresh, and if you are eating at Kona all the sushi is available to order.

Yes sorry I wasn't clear. It is still the coffee bar in the mornings. The sushi place is there at dinner and I think at lunch also, but not 100% sure.

Very cool!

This must be new since we just stayed in April? So would this count as a counter service or table service meal or is it just not on the plan.

Not that it matters.. just curious :)

Counter Service Sushi!:goodvibes I'll definately visit that!

Its great that you can order sushi eating at the Kona. My mom's going to be thrilled!

We just stopped in the Poly on Sunday and had sushi. We had the Ca. roll and it was very good. It was a nice place to sit and watch the rain.

We had dinner at Kona and my husband had the sushi for his appitizer. He said it was really good. We where on the deluxe plan so it was included.

Can you use CS dining credits for sushi?

I don't know if this question has been answered yet, but no, you cannot use CS credits for this. You CAN use your TS credit for it though. It's considered TS because it's connected to Kona. And, if you're getting it take-out, you can't even use your TS credit.
The sushi ranges in the mid $teens.

It was good sushi :)

Sorry I never got around to posting the pictures I have earlier. I only have pictures of what we ordered as our appetizers at dinner at Kona Cafe.

This is the Shrimp Tempura Roll

I had the Tempura Shrimp Roll two nights prior to this at California Grill. Kona's was good, but CG's was much better.

I did try it, but didn't care for it. But then again I am not a traditional nori fan. I just don't like the taste of black nori.
