OK, I have a question. We used to meet on Saturday nights at the Contemporary, but then some folks started going to the Polynesian. I don't know why. I personally liked it better at the Contemporary: there's more room, the pin cart is bigger/better, we're not under the guests' feet taking their places to relax (that they pay for), the snack bar is bigger/better, the parking is better, they have more places for the kids to play, I just thought they were better equipped to handle it.

So, I have a question: what's your preference? Assuming nothing else like who's there or any of the other stuff. I'm just asking about the location. I'd like your thoughts.

Thanks!

The chairs are mostly arranged in four around low tables. It forces people to lean forward to look at the pins and talk. Feels very "chatty." The chairs on all sides of the tables make everyone feel "equal." Like when you play cards.

At the Contemporary, the tables are lined up against the upholstered benches. Whoever is sitting down is "behind" the table and therefore sort of in the role of "seller." The person standing on the other side of the table is sort of the "buyer." Gives the trading a whole different feel.

Also, the closer quarters of the Poly keep people together, almost on top of each other, more like a big extended family.

Just my thoughts. :)

Hey Robyn,

What an interesting perspective - really! I hadn't thought about it like that. I appreciate your input. Another point of view - that's why I asked! Thanks very much!

Having only been to one at the Poly and one at the Contemp, I enjoyed the cozier atmosphere at the Poly. Really don't care where you have it, just so long as they both continue. And by the way.....I'll be in town this weekend. See you at the Poly on Saturday night.

:) Another interesting observation...where some of us don't care for the closeness of the Poly and it's set-up, others find it cozy. Thanks for your points of view, I feel it brings us all closer together when we can see more of the "Big Pin Picture".

Hmmmm......cozy......what to do....

I know!

We have our meet in the restaurant at the top of the C - do you think they'd let us???

I'm all for the Cont. for all the reasons listed above, and a few more..for parents who
like to come to our meet, w/ children in strollers, cant get through the masses at the poly
I have seen just leave,w/o trading because no matter where they tried to stop, they were in somebodys'
way..the same w/ wheelchairs, and electric wheelchairs..

They all like to trade too..

As said above, the kids have more to do, and more room to do it in..the staff is used to us, and really try
to help..

The staff at the poly also has tried, but our trading place is very inconvient for their guests, and they must come
first..

So my vote is for going back to the Cont.

Now this doesn't mean if you enjoy the poly, that you can't continue to go there, but for those of w/ kids
or those of us who are just more comfortable over at the Cont. go there, this is not a contest, just abour
personal comfort..

Just my opinion, since I was asked..
