I am really hoping that I will get a code, DC or AP rate for January so we can stay at the Poly. I really would love a lagoon view but I am on a budget of $200 per night max, so I don't think that's very likely.

I am now wondering what kind of view I would get from a Garden View Room. Any change of having a water view in these rooms, or are they totally 'garden', if you know what I mean?

I would love some help on this, so I can make my dream of staying at the Polynesian come true! :D

Most garden view rooms look out onto the gardens. There are a couple of buildings that will look at the parking lot. I think Rapa Nui is one of them. I think Tokelau has a couple of rooms where you can partially see the water. Hopefully Tikiman will read your question and give you a more definite resonse. The garden view rooms are very nice. We stayed in Tahiti in room 3010 in June of last year. Hope your wish comes true!!!!!!

There are a few buildings that you could get a parking lot view. I have never gotten one so I don't recall the names. We have pretty much always gotten Tokelau the room #'s that have partial view of the lagoon are *911,*9112,*913,*914,*915. I am not sure what the new Lagoon room view is it could be*914 or *915. Another nice building is Tahiti but only one side is GV. I think that would be a good choice though.

There really are few (if any) "bad" views. The south sides of Rarotonga and Rapa Nui are parking lot views but also you can watch the monorails go by, which some enjoy; probably Rapa Nui is the worst. In any case the parking lots are better landscaped than many.

The rest of the Garden View rooms are pretty much that, and should not be a disappointment. No, you are not likely to get one of the limited number of lagoon view rooms for $200. The best rates (during slowest times) would get you lagoon view for a little over $250 tax included.

Garden view rooms include views of the garden areas, pools, marina and some actually face the lagoon with some landscaping in between. Aotearoa faces the lagoon and the GF on one side and the monorail and gardens on the other. Fiji faces luau cove and the marina. Niue and Samoa face either the quiet pool or the volcano pool. Rarotonga faces the quiet pool and the parking lot but there are so many plants and the monorail in between the parking lot and the longhouse you will not see much if any of the parking lot. Only Rapa Nui has a side that faces the parking lot with nothing to block the view but you would have parking right next to your room. Tokelau is the favorite because the views are great and you may get a partial lagoon view. Two of the rooms in Tokelau are now lagoon view rooms. They are 2914 and 3914. All the rest are garden view rooms. Tuvalu is a good building for a lagoon view room but I would stay out of it for a garden view. You would just be looking at the end of Fiji. Tahiti has great garden view rooms also. There are not many bad rooms at the Polynesian so I would not worry too much.
