I hear there is construction near the pool are at the Polynesian. If this is true can anyone tell me how long it’s supposed to last and is the pool still useable?

The construction at the Poly is taking place at the site of the former Luau Cove (L on the map below). The resort pools are unaffected.

The construction will last quite some time. They are building a new DVC tower on the site of the former Luau Cove. The main pool (Lava Pool) was undergoing slide refurbishment in January, it is finished now.

You will get an email if staying at the Poly or GF concerning the construction. From most places in both resorts you will not see anything especially the Poly. You may hear some distant noise from some areas. You will see the construction from the monorail.

I think the construction you heard about was the Lava Pool Slide. Just the slide was closed for January, while the pool was still open. Both are back open now.

We were just there, pools not affected by construction during our stay. It is quite jaw dropping over there by the construction in the 2 long houses near it, however. Oof. Luckily we were able to relocate to different part of resort, this was our original view. F3D91833-A837-4EAF-9720-8585CCD69A13.jpeg
