Polynesian resort & concierge review **PICS ADDED - PAGE 3**

I have never stayed in the concierge level before so I have a few ?
Is the lounge always open?
I saw the listings for the food offerings at different times during the day, but are drinks always available?
One last ?
I saw they have juice, lemonade, tea but do they offer Coke???

Open from say 7am to 10 pm but not open 24 hours per day. The Coke (reg/diet/sprite) was always there in ice the last 3 times I've been but I read somewhere that its just out now-not on ice.

We found it is nice to have the lounge to relax in if someone else in your party needs to rest.

There is always soda available. I think it was coke, sprite, and diet coke. Also there are three other drinks available all the time, such as guave-orange or lemonade or iced tead. From 3-10, you can ask the concierge lounge staff for a beer. They had heiniken or amstel light, and one other that I can't recall. There is always bottled water, but not small plastic bottles. You have to get ice and pour the water into a cup, which is no problem.

Sounds wonderful! We are staying Concierge level in December, VERY excited to do so!! How did you pay for your "Ears?" Do you give them a CC and they use it?? Thank you!!

Yes, that is exactly what I did. I had them keep my CC number on file.

SeaSpray -

I have to tell you beautiful your photos are and how excited your report has made me for our trip next month. I am truly a VWL girl, but we decided to cancel there and move over to the Polynesian, which we did just this morning. Your report and photos show me that is truly the right choice! Our DS will be so excited to be on the monorail...

In fact, I'd like to thank you especially for the photos from your room. We have been talking about upgrading to Lagoon View and this has almost convinced me...! I'd love to do Concierge, but alas...we are going in September so I understand that is a no can do.

Anyway, GORGEOUS photos and thank you so much for posting them!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed them :) I hope you have a wonderful time at the Polynesian!! :sunny: :flower:

SeaSpray,

I am putting together a surprise get-away-weekend for our 15th Anniversary at the end of September. We have always stayed WL CL. Would love to try the Poly. I know you recently just stayed at both. Which would you recommend for an anniversary. :flower:

Hi Jasmine :)

That is a really hard question to answer because we ended up loving both resorts :) As far as which resort has the better overall concierge, hands down I have to say the Polynesian. When I think of all the things I liked about the Wilderness Lodge and the concierge there, MOST of it has to do with the resort itself and NOT really anything to do with the concierge part of it. But at the Polynesian, there were a lot of things that made the concierge building, view, lounge, etc, VERY special :)

So, basing my answer on concierge VS concierge, I'd have to say the Polynesian! But to choose based on the resort itself, it's too hard to decide. A lot of things would factor in, if I were choosing where to stay again for an anniversary.

I LOVED the fact that the Polynesian concierge was able to get the cake for me from the Grand Floridian (I actually ordered it myself, but they handled picking it up and making sure that it got to 'Ohana that night and was delivered to our table per my wishes). Then again, maybe the WL concierge would've been able to do this too, just not sure! We really loved the feeling and atmosphere at the WL, but then again, we loved the feeling and atmosphere of the Polynesian!

Ok, after all this thinking out loud, I have to say, I'd choose the Polynesian resort over the WL. But by a *very* small margin! :) :earboy2:

SeaSpray,

Thanks for the input. I think I am leaning towards the Poly. We've never stayed there before and I would really like to try something new. We will be heading back to WL this Christmas. Your reviews about the Poly CL were so wonderful. I hope our stay is just as wonderful as yours. :flower:

I just LOVE the Poly but I never even considered doing concierge, but WOW!! Your pics and comments are changing my mind. What is up with the great lo mein? Do they always have stuff like that?

we were married at sunset pointe in 9/94 and so many people came out with their camera and took so many pix of me... and i wonder, where are all those pictures now.would love to meet someone who has a candid view of my wedding not the professional..they brought back soo many memories,,thanks so... much
also i didn't get a ride in a golf cart, i walked in 100* heat with that dress on...ugh..

Just wanted to thank you again for sharing your trip! As you can see I'm no longer lurking and have graduated to a different forum. Not sure if I'm ready to give up cruising for Disney...and not ready to combine them just yet. Guess I need to take two vacations every year!

DisneyCowgirl: Yes, they always have a few hot dishes each evening. We had ribs another night and they were excellent! :)

Hi Pushee, great to see you here! :)
