Well, I think we are DEFINITELY going to WDW in August 2003 with my parents and our new son, Chase :p , and I know I want to stay on the monorail. It's either going to be the Contemporary or the Polynesian. My question has to do with the rehab of the buildings. I know that Hawaii is due to be redone in June/July 2003...what about Tahiti? That's the building I'd want with a lagoon view (of course ;) ) but will it be operational? Otherwise, are there other longhouses with LV rooms that are NOT concierge? I don't want to do concierge b/c I enjoy WDW restaurants too much! (Plus it is a little too pricey for me...)

I guess the deciding factor between these two resorts will be the rehab schedule.

Also, we're currently planning an early August trip (8/1 to 8/10) and may split our stay between a mod (first few nights) then go to a monorail resort.

Thanks for any info!!!!!!!

Tahiti will be concierge in August. The only other lagoon view rooms will be in Tokelau, Tuvalu, and Aortearoa.

BTW, I know what you mean about the Tahiti (& Hawaii) Lagoon views. They really are great. My dad said to me today that he wants to go back to the Polynesian, Concierge Lagoon, as that was his "all time" favorite. However, he said it "just wouldn't be the same" staying Concierge Lagoon in Tahiti - I was thinking August would be a great time to go.

Cali-D,

Thanks for your quick reply. I guess we'll be staying at the Contemporary then. Any advice for room location? When you stayed there, were there AP rates available for tower rooms? I'd love a tower room, but at a discounted rate. Otherwise, I think I'd be just as happy in a garden wing room. Is the North wing the one closest to MK? That's the one I'd request b/c of Chase and I'd love to be able to walk to the MK! I can't wait till he gets his first haircut on Main Street and meets Mickey for the first time!!!!!

Thanks for your help!

Anne

Well, when I stayed at the CR, the prices were horrible, LOL. However ;), when we went in July, the price with tax for a tower room was around $250 a night (AP), about the same price as a GF Garden View.

For a tower room, request MK view and the 11th floor. :) The 8th floor is the only smoking floor.

How hard do you all think it might be to book CR in Aug. with SoG being sent over there?? I was hoping to book either there or the Polynesian, but without a great rate I'll just stick with CBR.
