Polynesian or Grand Floridian?

I've narrowed it down to these two resorts for a variety of reasons, but need your help in making my decision. The most important thing for me at this point is knowing which one has the most recently renovated guest rooms. Does any know when the guest rooms were most recently updated, or how I could find that out?

Many thanks!

tikimanpages.com says that the rooms at the poly were rehabed in 2010, I'm not sure about GF:wizard:

I know all the Polynesian roooms were refurbished in 2005/2006. Our last stay there was in Sept 2006 and our rooms had been refurbished and some were in the process. I'm not sure about the Grand Floridian. We stayed at GF in 2008 and the rooms already had the new, large flat screen TVs. Since the GF is undergoing an expansion at this time I doubt any room upgrades have been done since we were there in 2008, but I don't know for certain.

Just curious - what type of refurbishments are you looking for?

I think the Contemporary is the latest Magic Kingdom resort to have undergone room refurbishment.

I too have narrowed down our resort choices to the Polynesian and Grand Floridian for our next trip. We just returned from a February trip at the Poly and loved it (except for that "new" Poly smell in the Great Ceremonial house)! I am leaning toward the Grand Floridian simply to try another resort, but I would love to hear others thoughts as well.

I guess I'm just a germ-a-phobe, but when I think about all the people who come through the resorts and sleep in the beds, I want the rooms updated rather frequently, especially carpeting in the rooms, mattresses, and bedding.

I have read here the Poly rooms are starting to show some wear. Last time we stayed there was right after the rehab.

We did stay at the GF in 2010 and rooms were in very good shape.

I do think it depends on what room you end up getting.

While I like the Poly very much, we love the GF.

1) The Grand.
2) Even when not rehabbed, the rooms are in greart shape.

NOTE: We are staying there later this week for five nights in
Main Building. Great trip for some R&R. Do not even plan upon
entering any of the parks. Just vegging at the resort.

Something else to remember is that right now they are also building the DVC Grand Floridian building and others have mentioned that effects some of the views if you stayed in Royal Palm, along with hearing construction noise. However I am not sure what effect that has if you stayed in any of their other buildings.
