Doing my Hula Dance... "Pearly Shell...in the ocean... "

Fantasia,

I wish I could do the Poly celebration dance with you, but I can't. Now, I followed your advice over on the Universal boards last year, and I stayed at the RPR. I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. I am going to wait for your Poly report so I can decide if I am going to try it next year.
I am going to be trying WL and POFQ this year, so I am totallly excited. If I see you around the parks my son, daughter, and I will say hi

HAVE A BLAST!!!

Purrrrfecta, glad to know that you had a wonderful time at the RPR. It is my favorite resort!! I love love this resort! I have stayed here about 5 times now! I haven't gone there there on my last 3 stay. I am actually beginning to miss my RPR. I think I stay at the RPR for the resort and not so much for the parks. This place is sooo exotic and so beautiful!

Anyways... I hope I will like Poly just as much as I love RPR. I will write a trip report.

You will love WL and POFQ!! Enjoy your stay there!!

:cheer2: YAAAY!! POLY is still on!! :cheer2: We had to change the date to August 2-9. I am doing a split with Poly and POFQ! I love POFQ so we are going back there again. Hopefully my mother can come! She kind of want to come but she is worried about money. I think I will pay for her air ticket and all she has to worry about is her pocket money. She deserves to come and enjoy life! I want to make a wonderful memories with her and what could be better than to cherish the memories at the most happiest place on earth!

 Happy happy Joy joy!!

Congrats!! We'll be at the Poly in a little over a week. It will be for the first time. I will let you know our first impression of it. I can hardly wait :dancer:

CONGRATULATIONS on making your decision. I hope you love POLY as much as we do. But, as another poster mentioned, be careful about that dreaded "Poly Fever." Once you catch it, you can never be free of it! :rotfl:

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time!!!!!!!!

You must, must post your thoughts on the Poly when you get back!
I have always wanted to stay here, and for our upcoming trip in Jan 06' , I'm seriously saving up to make this happen.

I know exactly what you mean about being worried if it will be worth it moneywise to stay here. I keep thinking that it can never live up to my expectations of it.

Have a great trip

You will LUV :lovestruc the Poly. We went in April and we've changed our July ressies from the Dolphin so we can return and even added an extra night!!!!! Can't wait to go in 20+ days. And don't worry, we won't use up all the magic - we'll make sure to leave some for you!!! ALOHA cousins!

I don't know if you read any of my reviews. We weren't as wowed as we though we would be. I don't know. I just didn't seem that "deluxy" for the price (we paid $254). Other than that, the transportation was great to MK and Epcot, restaurants were good (ESPECIALLY Kona), and it was fun to watch the fireworks from the beach. Since you like a tropcial theme I think you will have a great time. We did get our requests, so I would ask for Samoa, 3rd floor, either side is nice. All in all , we liked the other deluxes we've stayed at better (AKL, WL, BC), but will probably be back.

Thanks susy for sharing your thoughts on the Poly. I hope I will like the Poly just as much as the WL. WL is just breathtaking. I do like tropical. I'm an islander type of gal, so I am looking forward to staying at the Poly. I love love RPR. It is themed to the south pacific. I have been there plenty of times. I just hope that I don't compare those two too much or I think I will dissapoint myself.

As long as the the room is not musty and the room is clean, I will be very happy. I'm easy to please. And the themeing fits me very well. I think I might even want to bring my haku lei that I brought from Hawaii and wear them around the pool and also wear my sarong. I'm really excited about this trip. :Pinkbounc

I love POFQ and I just had to do a split between Poly and POFQ. The kids love love the pool. And I love love everything about POFQ!

:cheer2: Happy happy Joy joy!! :cheer2:

Definitely bring a sarong to wear with your bathing suit. They do give out leis and sell really cute flowers for the hair, etc. at the "Bou tiki" on the first floor. The Lava Flows at the pool bar are to die for!!! People (myself included) wore their leis to dinner and such. Wear your Hawaiian prints!!!! The boat back and forth to the Mk was very quick. Be sure to visit the GF! Its' so gorgeous!!!

Thanks for the tips susy!!

Has anyone done Spirit of Aloha? I think the price is about $50 per person or is it more? Is their Luau worth it? I have done the Luau at RPR and I don't know if it's really worth it. Maybe cause it rained and we had to have it in the banquet and I think that took away the Island feel. The food was okay, nothing to brag about. TIA!

Mahalo!
Telly

:cheer2: Keeping the Polynesian magic going for you Telly and your family, as you can see from my tag, we are Poly lovers. Just got back in may from another great trip there. You will LOVE the Polynesian. Make sure you take advantage of all the resort has to offer. They have lots of childrens activities. Just look in your island newspaper to see what is offered on the days you are there. Our ds love the arcade challenge the best. Hope you can enjoy a hammock. Watching wishes and the water paegent from the beach is great and all the little ducks and bunnies around are cute. Walking the paths at night with the tiki torches all lit is serene, just try not to get lost!! The magic of just hoping on the monorail to the mk is great too. Now practice your new word of the day, ALOHA!!. Our favorite castmember there is Lipoa. She is usually at Ohanas. This is the lst time we had a balcony on the 3rd floor of samoa. Our room was 3611 at the end. All our view was consisted of the tops of bamboo trees and the 3rd floor balacony of the hawaii bldg. Hope you get a great view. We had 1st floor balcony samoa with a volcano pool view the last time.

luvmarypoppins ~ I know you were just trying to set the stage for Telly but....oh what you've done to those of us that aren't going back quite as soon as she is!!!! I think I started drooling while reading your post!!! :rotfl:

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!!!!!!!!

Have a great time. I wish you were staying longer.

3 way split...you are brave!!!

I'm so excited for you!!!! We stayed at Pop this trip (loved it) but went to Poly to rent boats (twice). The Poly is fabulous! I stayed there a few times years ago when it was much less expensive. I hope to some day be able to stay there again. You'll love it!!!

You will love it, OK I hope you will love it.

Just remember it isn't the super new deluxe resort but one of the 2 (3 if you include the Golf Resort/Disney Inn/Shades of Green) original resorts.

That to me has meaning. It is an original!

Some people complain about the scent but quite honestly I remember that scent from my child hood (which was a LONG time ago). That brings me back & makes me have happy thoughts, wait I am in Disney, how can I have sad thoughts???

I don't think of the price (gulp, yes I do), but I do think of how easy it is to get to/from the MK & Epcot from there.

Oh, I am soooo excited for you. The Poly is the best!!! We were in Raritonga in April (which hasn't been refurbished yet by the way) and the rooms were just gorgeous. So beautifully themed - no musty smell - no imperfections, period. Here are our favorites....

Entering the GCH for the first time :Pinkbounc

Swimming in the volcano pool

The smell of the evening torches & Ohana combined

Walking along the tropical pathways

The Electrical Water Pageant :bitelip:

The ferry to the MK

Wishes from the pool :goodvibes

Coffee at the coffee bar

Breakfast at the Kona Cafe - Tonga Toast!!!

All of the shops

Monorail stops :rolleyes1

Tikis, tikis everywhere

and just about everything else.

We even love, love, love the snack company downstairs!!

We're so hooked on the Poly!! :flower:
