Polynesian Island Tower - Drop-off and Check-in

We will be staying at the Polynesian Island Tower in a few months and I am in the process of booking a car service from the airport and was wondering whether or not I use the Polynesian Island Tower address or the Polynesian main resort? I've read posts where it says that the gate at the Polynesian Island Tower is not "manned" and that Magic Bands don't usually work until you have actually checked in. We will have luggage and will need bell services to store it until our room is ready. Anyone have any experience with this?

If the Tower has its own DVC lobby I would think yes you can be dropped off there.
If not, then much like other resorts enter thru the hotel lobby and peel off to the DVC area after.

My son and I walked through the lobby a month ago and I don’t recall there being anyone in the lobby. We weren’t staying there but wanted to check it out.

You cannot get dropped off at the Island Tower but have to go through the main lobby (at least not four weeks ago when we were there).

Bell services is located at the GCH. Mears dropped off at the GCH when we stayed at the tower last month.

The gate at the tower isn’t manned so if you’re driving yourself or using uber, you’ll have to use your magicband to scan in (make sure your checked in online) but also there’s also a call button at the gate and they’re usually quick to answer and open the gate. I assume they run into this a lot.

Once at the tower there are CMs and bell service access like normal. You can also get dropped off at the Grand Ceremonial House and leave your stuff with their bell services. They’ll bring your stuff to your room either way.

Yes we were there in December and didn’t see anyone there to take luggage. Only a few cast members in the lobby with iPads.
