Aloha DVC neighbors!

My husband and I will be staying at the Polynesian for our FIRST TIME EVER in January 2018, to celebrate our first anniversary! We have visited and dined at Poly many times before, but have never actually stayed. We are considering adding on points there during our vacation. :flower:

We are staying in a Deluxe Studio - Standard View. My question is: what room request(s) should we make in order to help us get the best standard-view room possible? We will not be upgrading to Lake View. A theme park or pool view is absolutely not mandatory for us, but we want the best chance possible at no parking lot views. Help us out, Poly experts!!

Thanks so much, in advance! Or should I say... Mahalo :stitch2:

For what it's worth, there are really a limited number of true "parking lot" views. The rooms on one side of Pago Pago are parking lot/foliage.

Everyone asks for Tokelau.

Asking for Moorea for SV is fairly likely to get your request. The back of Moorea is SV and views foliage and walking paths. A plus is the easy access to laundry from Moorea.

My second ever DVC stay this year, I got Pago Pago with a parking lot view and was just steps away from both my rental car and the TTC. I do keep the curtains closed so view doesn't really matter in a standard view to me.

I didn't request anything other than upper floor. I was thrilled with the location.

Pago Pago is the buildings that 1/2 faces the parking lots so request Moorea or Tokelau.

I was there last Dec 15-19, moved over after VWL stay, and didn't put in a room request. I think I had the best room! Tokelau. 2nd floor, right off the stairs. It faced the Oasis pool, and was so quick & easy to dash up & down stairs, eat at the Oasis Grill, dip in the pool, and quick back to room. Beautiful walk to the Grand Ceremonial House and everything it offers (shopping, dining, atmosphere, etc), all around the lovely resort. Loved taking the boat to MK, and walking to TTC to get monorail to Epcot. Down at the far end of the hall, facing the MK, are stairs going down to walk along the lagoon. Those stairs are a GREAT location to watch fireworks if you don't feel like fighting the crowds to do it in the park. The best part of staying at Poly is being able to order the Twilight Feast from room service. Same food as Ohana, without the hassle of trying to get an ADR. Really, really enjoyed that. It was all so wonderful and most relaxing stay I have ever had.
Maybe I got the best room because I was only there for 4 days before it got too busy, just luck. But I sure would love to have that same room again. Would have been happy to just stay there, and never go in parks, but since I had already paid for and activated tickets, I did go to parks. Candlelight Processional is so special.
I think the only reason there was availability then was because they hadn't sold that much yet. I LOVED it. Enjoy your stay and don't worry about a room request. It will be great! And order the Twilight Feast.

room 2903 or 2904?

We requested and got both Tokelau and the first floor. We had a nice, open patio with a view out towards the quiet pool. Peaceful & lovely.

When you arrive, check your room location, and if you don't like it, ask if they can move you. They like to accommodate, and the earlier you arrive, the more likely it is that they'll be able to accommodate you.
