I don't know if this happens to the rest of you; but, the trip that I have had planned since August of last year has changed several times over the past few weeks.

We are now planning to stay 3-nights at the Polynesian. We are trying to decide between the Lagoon View and the Concierge Lagoon View.

Our first day we plan to check-in around noon, then head to downtown disney for lunch, shopping and whatever else. The second and third day we will get up early and hit the parks (we generally open and close the parks.) The last morning , we will check-out and go home.

Here's the question, should we do the concierge level even though we will not be there that much? What do you get when you are on the concierge level?

Everyone on this board has great advice.

Thanks!

I think this is a decision for you alone. On one hand, you are only there 2 days, and sound like you are basically going to be sleeping in the room and that's about it. If it was me, I probably wouldn't spend the money for concierge. I'd wait and spend it on a vacation where I would be spending more time at the resort.

But on the other hand, if this may be your only chance to stay concierge, maybe it's worth the money to stay there and say you have had the experience. It just doesn't sound like you are going to be there, at the resort, for much of your stay, so you wouldn't be able to take advantage of the concierge lounge much. Perhaps the concierge CMs could help you with PSs, but again, I just don't see 3 days, being at the parks as much as you are going to be, being worth the concierge price,.

Just what I would do...this is really a matter of what you want your vacation to be. Good luck and have fun.

I don't know how many people are in your family, but if you have children the concierge might be worth it even if you open/close the parks. With hours as they are now, you can get to the concierge lounge before you go and fill up on cereal, bagels, pastry, etc. Another plus is the ability to get water to take to the parks, saving you $2.50 or more a bottle. I know with our 3 kids, a character or buffet breakfast can run $60 or more, and eating in the lounge can more than make up for that. Also, you get a minibar fridge with concierge leve, and that costs $10 a night in a regular room.
We have a 9 night trip coming up--5 at BWV, 2 at Poly concierge LV and 2 at VWL. I have the two poly days as laid-back or MK days to take advantage of the resort. On the days you are at MK, if you want to take a break perhaps you can grab a hammock and just lay in the breeze! We did a 3 night trip in December and I spent 1/2 hour in a hammock with my two younger kids--which is one reason I upgraded from GV concierge to LV!
I don't really use concierge services for PSs, though some do--I want control over my own planning--but they helped me get a candlelight processional dinner package in Dec., and also to made adjustments with my TTC pickup time.
