Coming the 1st week of June for 7 nights with husband, daughter, 16 year old son and 2yr old grandbaby. Wanted to get some opinions from those who have done club level if you felt it was worth the price. $1700 more for the stay. And will my 16year old be able to go up to the lounge without a parent when he wants a snack/food? Thanks in advance for any opinions and advice!

Forgot to mention we will be on the regular dining plan :)

"Worth it" is far too subjective to say. But I will say that it is a very nice experience. The lounge is very nice and well stocked with food and drink. It has a beautiful view of the lagoon and castle but I do think the view has been lessened by the new bungalows being there. I will caution you if you are planning on staying Garden View you will certainly have a construction view as the quiet pool is being redesigned then.

Definitely. During our CL stays, our son started going to the lounge by himself when he was about 13 or 14, maybe even younger. Many times he would go to the lounge and grab something for breakfast and bring it back to the room.

Since it's only DH and myself, we won't pay for CL. However, we have been upgraded to CL twice, once at BWI and once at YC and did enjoy CL. But we also don't do the dining plan. We don't drink sodas, so it is nice to stop by the CL lounge to get water or tea after the parks before returning to our rooms.

Seems to me to pay for CL and be on the dining plan is overkill, but that's just us. I don't like paying for things and then feel like I have to try to get my moneys worth.

We aren't big breakfast eaters, so when we did have CL, the offering were enough to get us through to lunch. Since we drive, I always bring muffins and granola bars for breakfast in our room and when we get CL, being able to get fresh fruit and the extra added protein from the hard boiled eggs is nice.

As others have said "Worth it" is far too subjective.

I think CL is perfect when you have hungry teenage boys in the family - because they want snacks! CL is a perfect compliment to the regular dining plan. The regular dining plan covers 2 meals a day and CL includes breakfast. So if you plan to eat breakfast in the lounge, plan to hang out at the resort a bit it works great. We love the apps in the lounge before dinner - this way we can plan a later dinner after pool time and we don't have to scramble to get ready.Yes we think it is worth it - but we spend lots of time at the resort and my tweens are big snackers.

I agree with @MsThumper that CL plus the dining plan might be too much. I'm also staying at the Poly the first week of June and opted not to do CL because of the construction. I'll save that for another time!

We think it's more than worth it in our family! Mom and I just stayed Club Level at The Poly this past March 2015, and we were SO glad we did! Wonderful spread, great options to choose from all throughout the day, extremely relaxing and spacious and The Bungalows, in my opinion, only add to the view for the fireworks! Your son will have no problem going up there and getting whatever he'd like at any time. We actually changed our plans one night, and we'd missed the dinner spread, so we had private dining deliver room service to us up in the lounge. It was amazing. We got the Ohana Platter. Just one was more than enough for both of us. We had dinner, I worked on my computer while mom read her nook and watched the fireworks when the time came. They're very attentive and helpful, and will assist you with anything you may need. Just an added bonus if you like to hang in the hotel sometimes throughout your trip. Even if you don't, as long as you take advantage of some points of what the club has to offer, yes, it's well worth it! :)

$1,700 will buy a lot of food! I can't imagine the club level snacks and other refreshments will be worth that kind of money, especially when you have the dining plan.

We have stayed Club level (at WL, not Poly) and it's really great. Yes, your son can go by himself whenever he likes. I would not pay for the dining plan in addition to the club level, it's a lot of food. But, that might work for your family. It's great to grab breakfast in the morning and drinks throughout the day. I hope you have a great time!

I stayed Club Level at Poly two years ago, and we loved it! That being said, I wouldn't pay an extra $250 per night for it. In my opinion, I'd pay an extra $100 per night for it. Anything more than that, and I'd pass.

I agree, if it's mainly the food you can go to a TS breakfast every morning for less than $150 total. The extra $100 should be enough for drinks and extra snacks through out the day right? As for fireworks viewing from the lounge, maybe use the extra money for a dessert party? Or fireworks cruise?

We have not stayed CL. Every time I want to pull the trigger, I can't bring myself to spend the extra money.

I was thinking the same thing, even at Disney shop prices! :-)

First, "worth" is different for everyone. Minority here:) On one of our trips, we were upgraded to CL at GF because of a room issue, and we are so glad that this happened. We had always toyed with the idea of doing CL and always hesitated because of cost. Well, we realized that for us, in no way was it worth it. Maybe if you are going to spend most of your time at the resort and you drink wine and/or beer, but the bottom line is your talking about a continental breakfast, then basic snacks in the middle of the day and the finger food and desert does not start until evening. We liked that the CL rooms were in a better location, but everything else that they help with ADRs etc. I can do. If you want to feel pampered and money is not an issue(for me, even if money is not an issue, it's still an issue:laughing:) then I guess it would be worth it. But its not for us:) Here is just an idea of the food/snacks.
  • 6:30 a.m. – Coffee is available
  • 7:00 – 10:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast with juice, coffee, tea, cereals, fruit, breakfast pastries and breads
  • 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Snacks and/or tea with sodas, iced tea, lemonade, coffee, tea, and snack foods like crackers, pretzels, cookies and nuts.
  • 5:00 – 7:00p.m. Hot appetizers, children’s corner, cruidites, cheese tray, beverages, wine and beer.
  • 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Desserts and cordials with a selection of cordials and desserts from the resort’s restaurants.
  • All Day (7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.) Whole fresh fruit and beverages
