Does anyone know when/ how frequently buses leave the Polynesian to go to the parks? Also, at what time approx do the busses leave the theme parks (ie on the hour, ten min to the hour, etc???) Thanks!:)

Buses do not run on a set schedule. From the Polynesian, you will take either the boat or the monorail over to the MK. You will take the monorail, or walk, to the TTC to get the monorail to Epcot. To get to either DHS or AK, you will get a bus from the Polynesian directly.

From the parks back to the resorts, it's pretty much the same thing...about every 15 or so mins. If you just miss a bus back to the resort, another one will be along shortly.

Disney Transport does not run on a set schedule.

From Poly, you will be taking the monorail to and from MK & Epcot. The monorail to the MK runs frequently; I think it's about every 5 minutes. There is also a small boat that circles among Poly, GF, and MK.

To get to Epcot, you'll take the monorail around to the TTC, which is about a 15 minute ride, or walk to the TTC, which can be as short as 5 minutes depending on your room location. Then you'll board the Epcot monorail at TTC, which I think runs about every 15 minutes.

To get to DHS, AK, or DTD, you'll take a bus. The buses run every 20 minutes or less, but they are not at a fixed time. Occasionally, you might have to wait longer.

Why do I insist on forgetting about getting to DTD??? Thanks for remembering.
I have to say that the monorail comes less frequently than every 5 mins or so...it can be as long as 15 mins depending on time of day. The ride from Polynesian to TTC is close to 20 mins....you really are better off walking..takes under 10 mins, and is pretty pleasant.

I loved sitting on my balcony at BLT, watching the monorail coming and going. It really surprised me to see just how infrequent it really was. You can sit there and watch where all the various cars are and how many are out on the tracks at any given time. Very interesting to say the least.

OH, and another thought. There are buses to both DHS and AK from TTC. It is sometimes much faster to just walk over there, from the Polynesian, and take the buses from there. If the weather is nice, it's okay...hot/humid isn't so nice.

We stay at SOG and frequently walk to the poly to catch a bus. We've stood there waiting for one particular bus only to see 2 or 3 in a row going to the same place, just not where we're going. Definitely no set schedule. But, the SOG buses run like clockwork.

I have noticed that at the Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom bus sections that the Polynesian loading zone is always next to the TTC loading zone, so you can always get on which ever bus arrives first.

Yeah, we're staying at shades of green and wondering about the poly bus schedule because it seems ridiculous to wait an hour for the SOG bus and wondering if we miss it, how long would it take to take a poly bus or even a bus to the TTC.

I think the TTC bus runs every half hour. From there you can easily hop on the express monorail to MK (which does run every 5 minutes) or the Epcot monorail. The buses from TTC to DHS and AK run about every 15 minutes (when they're on time).

There's also a slight time advantage at certain times of day to catching a bus at TTC rather than Poly. The buses from TTC usually go straight to the park (but not always*). The bus from Poly to AK stops at BB in the morning and early afternoon; the bus from Poly to DHS stops at GF in the afternoon and evening.

(*Sometimes in the morning, when there are too many guests and not enough resort buses, the MK bus managers will have the TTC buses stop at the Poly or GF to help out.)

So when leaving the Poly to get to MK which is fastest? Hoping on the monorail there (doesn't it go around to all the other resorts first?) or walking to TTC and riding monorail to MK?

We stayed at the CR in 08 and our bus shared with the Poly. IT was horrible how many people the bus driver tried to shove onto the bus. Literally there was no extra room at all --standing or sitting. We were only at the CR bc of Tropical Storm Fay. OUr return train was canceled so we moved from OKW to CR for the next 5 days till our train left.

I don't know if it changed but just be warned.

You can get on the monorail at the Polynesian, not sure why you'd walk to TTC and get on the express monorail. The resort loop from Polynesian will stop at the Grand Floridian and then MK.

If you want a direct route to MK the boat launch goes directly there from the Polynesian. But they're small boats and have already been to the Grand Floridian so there may already be passengers aboard. They move pretty quickly though. The monorail will be faster, unless for some reason you have to wait a long time for it to arrive.

If you get on at the Polynesian, you will then stop at the GF and then the MK. If you walked over to the TTC to get the monorail, you would get the express line..which is faster but not by much if you are comparing the two times.
As mentioned, taking the boat is a good choice as well..it goes directly to the MK after leaving the Polynesian.
