Polynesian Bungalow Room Review

Thanks very much and yes, I'm a GC (a good one so no flames). So far, I've stayed at BW (home resort), OKW, SS, AK, BC, Vero, BLT and WL. In my humble opinion, the Bungalows are a clear #1 in quality, originality, design, electronics and appliances with BLT just behind it. I have not stayed at GF so I cannot comment on those rooms. It seems to me that DVC pulled out the stops with the Bungalows, probably because they are so unique and different. I could be wrong but I see the Bungalows as DVC's top of the line rooms (not necessarily resort).

But they have to be, or better be for the price they are commanding. I am no way upset about the price as long as ( and you say they are ) reflective in what is offered. You get what you pay for. They are more then staying at the GF, but thats ok.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm wondering about how long it takes to walk from the bungalows to the monorail? Or did you just use the boat? We're considering a bungalow stay this January, and my kids are young -- 8, 6, and 3. The 3-year-old will be in a stroller (which makes the boat kinda a pain), but the bigger two will be walking, and the less walking the better....

(For the price of the bungalow, seems like I should get a private boat from the deck straight to MK ).

5 minutes easy walk to the transit station or Polynesian station and yes, I agree that you should get private boat pickup

The boat dock is actually the closest to the bungalows

Just wanted to say thanks for the great review and pics!! I asked about the bungalows on other threads and didn't get much info. This is really helpful! We have this booked for a F&W/W&D Half trip in Nov... looking forward to it!!!

Right now there are issues with the air conditioning and they are adding a window unit in the master bedroom to help resolve the issue.
