Polynesian, Animal Kingdom, or Pop Century?

I have stayed at all three resorts. I loved each of them!

If money is a concern or even if it would cross your mind (Like "gosh, I wish I had that 800 dollars to do x y and z with) I would stay with Pop. Pop is so much fun. I must confess that when my daughter and I stayed there last year I was a bit apprehensive. But it was lovely, the service was great, the rooms were super clean, the food court had a wide variety of choices, even the gift store was super. It was December when we went so we did not use the pools. I loved it and she thought it was magical. In my opinion it is nothing like Motel 6 (no vibrating beds...but they keep the light on for ya!:lmao: )

Poly is deluxe, on the monorail and much bigger rooms. You can't beat the location and that is a huge consideration.

AKL holds a special spot in my heart. I love the animals and the atmosphere so much. It is such an escape to stay there. I am not sure about the construction, etc. so make sure about that. One thing, the rooms are much smaller than the Poly, and the location is a bit off the beaten track. (but easy bus service).

I guess it comes down to money and location. How you feel about those subjects will dictate where you go. I must say that you will love each for different reasons.

I would rec AKL. Request a savannah view, it's worth it. The balcony is one the largest of any Disney resorts I have stayed. I don't particularly care for animals, but I found myself on the balcony most of the time. I have ate at AKL and Poly and prefer AKL. Also I am not sure if Poly has balconies. I am sure someone might know.
Check out the photos of each resort.

Our neighbors just returned from Poly and they did not like it. They said the bed was too hard.

Have Fun!:woohoo:

Have you been to WDW a lot? Here is how I would base my decison... if I had been to the parks a lot and thought I'd spend less time in the parks and more time at the resort I would upgrade. However, if you spend a lot of time in the parks (and with just 6 nights you might be in the parks commando-style) and don't expect to be around the hotel much, I would stay with Pop and save that $800 for something more important.

Thanks to all my Disney friends! My DH and I talked about it and we decided to go ahead and do the upgrade! We decided on the Poly since AKL has some construction going on there. We might even extend our stay a day or two! Looks like we're going to Disney Poly style:dancer: ! Maybe next year we go AKL style! :ewok: ! It's amazing how I get excited each time we go. I think I'm worse than the kids! Thanks for all your help:love: !

Wo hoo! Great decision! I think you made an excellent choice. Trust me - you will NOT be disappointed!!!!

Book the AKL at a standard room rate and because of the construction they'll upgrade you to the Poly with a MK view with concierge service, spending money, champagne, a parade in your honor, and a personal butler.
Sorry... Had to! ;)

Nice! The AKL is my overall favorite resort, but the Polynesian is quite nice. I bet you never go back to the value class resorts! Enjoy!!
