Finally decided on Poly. Now can someone tell me the advantages of Lagoon vs. Gardenview? We will have three children--9,7, and 6 in our room. Thanks so much for all the helpful hints.:Pinkbounc

While there are some areas where the Garden View rooms look out to parking lots, there are also some great Garden View rooms too. In fact we stayed in Samoa which had a view of the volcano pool, GF, lagoon, and even the castle if we stretched over the balcony. It was gorgeous.
I think it basically depends on how important a view is to you and how much that will impact your vacation, to decide which is best for you.

Our room in June was garden view & we thought it was great (Tokelou - not sure if I spelled it right?!?). We were on the second floor & could see the Seven Seas Lagoon from our balcony - sort of sideways view. The rest of our view was of the lovely grounds & another longhouse. We were not disappointed at all - of course we've never had a lagoon room to compare it to.

I have been to the Poly several times and I think that the view is important. I am an early riser and my family like to sleep in. In the AM I make my coffee and grab my book and spend the first 30 minutes in bliss on the balconey watching the boats taking visitors to the MK. It is delightful. We usually stay in Tokelau and get a room down by the lagoon that is a sideways view of the lagoon. The room is a garden view category. If I didn't have two children going to be in college at the same time I wouldn't be so cost conscious but right now I need to be. If it isn't too much more to get the lagoon view I would get it. You can't beat sitting on the balocney watching the world go by and the view of the fireworks from your room is great too. We are going in October this year and the fireworks will only be a few nights so I know we won't be on the beach for any of them. I guess the time frame of when you go matters in your choice also.
