Poly: What have been the best rates for value season (Dec)...AP or general codes??

We'll be at the Poly next December and will luckily be checking in December 19, when value rates are still in effect.

I am willing to buy one AP, if it gives us a really good room rate, or I'm hoping for some kind of code. We did get one last year, when we stayed at AK.

What kind of prices have people gotten at the Poly in December, during value season?

I stayed at the Polynesian this past December (value season). With the AP rate, I paid $233 (tax included) for garden view. Rack rate was $333 (tax included), so I saved $100/night. -Steph

You don't have to buy the AP in advance to make the reservation, you just need it when you check-in. So I would see what rates come out before you buy the AP. Code rates are usually $10 to $15 higher per night than AP rates. Depending on how many nights you are staying and if you do water parks, it may be cheaper to take the code.

Right now I am paying $258 per night for the Poly with an AAA rate. A rate such as $233 saves about $28 per night, which is $224. So an AP at over $400 would save me a little, but not too much (the AP would be an extra $150, and would save me $224 at the Poly).

I was kind of hoping an AP rate during value season might be more like $199. Oh well, it's better to assume that I won't get a better rate than $258, and be ready to pay it. If I do, it's a bonus!
