We are planning at 3 day trip to the Poly, with only 1 park day (Epcot)/ maybe hop to MK but mostly just enjoy the Epcot festival. The rest of the time will be spent enjoying the resort: pools, Trader Sams, watching the fireworks and the Electric Lights water parade, character breakfast, etc. When will the heat and crowds at the pool and restaurants be worst: the first few days of June or October- the week of Columbus Day/ Indigenous Peoples Day?

Weather will be better in October. Crowds will be better in June than they will for mid-October. Pick your poison. If it matters, June is the Flower & Garden Festival while October will be Food & Wine.

October at TS also carries with it risks around Halloween mugs, which create a bizarre feeding frenzy and line.

(Pre-covid) We found October to be busier at the parks and resorts (personally experienced BCV, BWV, SSR, BLT, and PVB during that time of year).

October carries hurricane risks. Impacted pool and resort time during our time there.
We experienced it once (only the tail end of the bands), but we still prefer October because of F&W, MNSSHP.

One time we were staying at PVB during the Trader Sam's Halloween mug release. The year we went, it was the day the mugs started to be released. They formed a line around 11 for wristband distribution at 1. We didn't think it was that bad a wait. Talked with others during that time. Line moved with the distribution. Then, we went to Epcot for awhile. Came back later that night, bought our drinks and mugs at the outdoor area (doesn't require indoor for these mugs). One bit of warning, the year we went, the drinks for the Halloween mugs were not awful. We went a second night and picked up another pair of mugs, but skipped the drink. Instead had something tastier.
