I am so much better at helping other people make decisions than making them for myself.

I am all booked at the GF in a Garden View Club level room, but then my husband asks why aren't we staying at the Polynesian b/c he's never gotten to stay there even though our daughter and I have stayed there twice.

I explained that I thought of that but there were no club level rooms available when I booked, but I said I would check again just to be sure. Of course, now they do have availability, but it is Theme Park View Club Level.

The Poly is a bit more, but we can swing it if it is worth it. Here's my list of wins for each

1) Price -- Grand Floridain
2) Rooms -- The Poly just got newly updated decor so I'd love to check it out, plus it would be a theme park view. I know our daughter and her best friend who we are taking with us would enjoy it.
3) Pools -- It's a toss up. GF's beach pool isn't actually on the beach anymore since it is fenced off and it is a hike to get there, but the Poly's theme pool is pretty small and has no jacuzzis.
4) Club Offerings -- Not sure since we've never stayed club level

Please help me decide. I'd love to hear other opinions.

Would the Hawaii building be convenient to the main theme pool? I'm thinking of how convenient or inconvenient would it be to grab snacks and/or drinks and head out to the pool in the afternoons?

Hello, fellow Charlestonian! The Hawaii building is very convenient to the pool and to everything at the resort. You can be at the pool and run up to the club lounge and grab a beer and snacks. It's awesome. I don't think you can get that convienance at any other resort club level. Don't forget that the second floor rooms of the Hawaii building don't have balconies so request 1st or 3rd floors, whichever you prefer.

We've stayed Poly Club Level 3 times and LOVE it. The Hawaii building is very close to the main pool. The lounge food offerings are very generous! We ate every breakfast in the lounge and went back to the resort most evenings for the hors devours and found them to be more than enough. The night time snacks are great too and watching the fireworks in the Club lounge is amazing!

Thanks for the replies. So far I've changed the first 2 nights of our trip from POR Royal to CSR Business Class to check that out. Now I think I am going to change the last 7 nights to from GF to Poly. I ned to go join the resort changers club.

I think you made a good choice. We haven't stayed CL at the Poly, but have stayed in a regular GV room and that was enough for us to fall in love with the resort. We are trying Poly CL in December and I can't wait. One big advantage (for us) is that the Hawaii building is right next to the volcano pool, which makes it easy to run up to the lounge for snacks and drinks while relaxing at the pool (which we do alot of on our Disney vacations) :goodvibes.

One question: Is the GF garden view a SL room or an RPC room?

GF: I think the food is a bit better there than at the Poly. SL is just ok -- RPC is fantastic...

Poly: Nicer lounge than SL at the GF. Great views from there. We've stayed in a TPV room in Hawaii twice and I have to say it's my favorite view at WDW. You can see the castle changing color all night, and the lights of the GF and the CR. The fireworks from the room are perfect (especially when you grab a few dessert items from the lounge) since you have a straight on view instead of being off to the side (like the CR and the GF).:cloud9:

Yes... In fact IMO it's the most convenient lounge for that very reason. The door to the Hawaii building is right in between the two pools, so it's super-convenient to run up for drinks and snacks and take them to the pool. ;)

I hope this helps. We struggle between the two sometimes as well. With the Poly Hawaii building being newly renovated and the construction zone over at the GF I'd pick the Poly.

Thanks guys. I made the switch. We were booked at Sugar Loaf and not RPC at GF. I am excited to see the new rooms at the Poly and the convenience of having the lounge right by the pool will be a great advantage with 2 little girls in tow.

:thumbsup2 I definitely think you made the right decision then. I hope you have a great time and enjoy the room at the Poly -- it's really nice to be able to watch the fireworks from your room at night. :goodvibes
