If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. We are doing the land/sea vacation 1/9-1/16, staying at the Poly. At the last minute, my niece is going to join us and she is getting in on the day of the cruise at 8:37 into MCO. The question is, can we pick her up at the airport, go back to the parks for a little while (we have an extra ticket from a few years back), then have enough time to drive to Port Canaveral for the cruise boarding? The cruise starts boarding from 1-3. Anyone ever tried it? I may be pushing it.
Thanks. Amy

How old is she? Can't she just meet you at the Poly? Not sure what time check out is at the Poly, but if it is around 11am, you would have to store all of your luggage before going to the park. Do you have APs? I think for the 2 rushed hours you would get in the Park (she gets through baggage claim say at 9am, arrives at the Poly at 10am, you get to the Park for 10:30am and leave for the Poly to pick up your stuff and catch a towncar to the Port at around 1pm at the latest) it would be a waste of an admission, not to mention totally stressful. Keep in mind this is totally IMHO!!! :charac2:

I wouldn't try that if you paid me....

I agree with Dutchsmommy, you would DEFINATELY be pushing it and wasting an admission.

Even if you got back to a park by 10:30, she might only get to ride like one or two rides.

It would be better to just pick her up, maybe go for breakfest, and then get to the ship early. (You probably won't be ready to leave the airport to around 9:15 anyway and it will take about 45 minutes to the port.)

You'll still have to check her in at the dock and at least you'll be at the front of the line. (They'll board the ship about noon but you want to be checked in before that because that is when the check in line for first-timers is the worst.)

Thanks for the advice, I did think I was pushing it. My niece is 13 and I'd feel better if we met her at the airport in our rental. Maybe we'll just go back to the Poly and hang by the pool or shop a little bit at Downtown Disney, we'll see how the weather is. Thanks again!

I wouldn't even consider the parks that day. We are going on our first cruise in April and are staying at the Boardwalk Villas before our cruise. Our towncar ride is picking us up at 9:30 am to get to the port. We'll arrive there about 10:30 and we'll check in. If I were you, I'd go straight from the airport to the port. Its never too soon to see the ship! And before you know it, you'll be checking in. Have fun!
