Help! After reading so many entries about the wonderful bus service (thanks to folks like Tyler! :p ), I'm feeling overwhelmed.

We arrive at MCO at 2pm (USAir was at least nice enough to change our reserved flight since they kept moving our arrival later & later on original flight). I plan to use Tiffanny Towncar (didn't know about Yourride) to get to the Poly. After checking in, need to use transportation to get to DTD for dinner & 6:00 LaNouba show.

Questions: Can we catch a bus to DTD from Poly, and how long should we allow for wait/travel time?

Should we plan to heavy snack at Poly conc. :) :) and then do dinner after the show?

How far is the walk from one end of DTD to the other? We are thinking of eating dinner at Rainforest Cafe, and show is at the other end of DTD.

We need to pick up tickets by 5:00 for LaNouba, and be in seats by 5:30 for pre-show. Have not made rsvp for seats yet, but have vouchers. I'd rather do the early show for DDs.

This will be our very first trip, so I don't know what to expect, but I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Thanks for any and all help. You all are a wealth of information & so wonderful. What a great site! :jester:

Hrmm... your flight is scheduled to arrive at two... you'll be checked in by four, I'm guessing. To be honest, I think you might be cutting it a tid bit short... dinner might have to be a lil quick (perhaps Wolfgang Puck Express?) but it should be no problem. That early in the afternoon, the busses run fairly regularly, with no backups... approx every 15 mins... and it's a 15 minute ride.

Enjoy the show... I'm going for my third time this week. Can't wait! :)

Thanks Tyler!

I thought we'd be pushing it to do dinner before the show. I may just pack some extra heavy snacks and enjoy a "slow" dinner after the show. At least I was able to change flights so we have a better option of early or late show. We will not have any checked baggage because we have such a short stay:( . But at least we are going!!!!!

Thanks again for the help!!!!

If you get caught short for time, you can always take a taxi from the Poly to the West Side. It will be faster than the bus and you shouldn't have much of a wait (if any) to get one. There seem to plenty available at all of the deluxe hotels. Enjoy your trip!

Are you locked into LaNouba for your first night? I would be worried that I might miss it. If you're flight is delayed, if the bags are slow coming out, if you hit traffic, if Tiffany is late, etc.:( I always expect 2 hours from touchdown to arrival at WDW and am pleasantly surprised when we make it in an hour and a half on occasion. That's assuming there are no flight delays.

Sorry to sound so pessimistic but those tickets are expensive and I don't think I'd risk it.

Although the tickets are non-refundable, if for some reason you do end up missing the show (late flight, etc) Disney can change the date for the tickets. Just go to either the CdS window, or Guest Services at the Poly. :)

Thanks everyone for the good ideas! I'm not locked in to the early show yet- we make the "reservations" for our seats through ticketmania a month ahead of time. So I have until 12/17 to make a final decision.

Sounds like I had better stick to the late show though! We still have to pick up our tickets by 5:00pm for that show, but we can walk around DTD & do dinner until time for the preshow.

Thanks again everyone. Don't know what I'd do without this site!!! :D

Tyler,

How was the show????

Is it true there is not a bad seat in the house? I hope so! Can't wait to see La Nouba. Who knows - maybe we will luck out and have you as our DTD driver from Poly!!

:smooth:

Have a great Thanksgiving! And enjoy your "mini" vacation (just don't take one Jan. 17-21 'cause these NC folks will be looking for you!!! And thanks again for all of the help. :)

I'm going on Wed, I think... details pending. However, I have seen the show twice before, and words cannot describe just how amazing this show is. It's mostly true, there's not a bad seat in the house. The last time I saw it, was a last minute thing, and we got seats in the top top row, allllllllll the way to the left. Still provided excellent viewing for the show.

that when you're at the Poly, you can walk to the TTC for buses as well! Perhaps they run to DTD more frequently from the TTC than they would from the Poly!

Enjoy!

Actually, they run less frequently... as on zero times a day... Now that the MK Resorts get DTD service all day long, they've eliminated the DTD bus from the TTC.

Not that I want you to ruin your dinner, but if you decide to go to the early show, you can also buy snacks & drinks there (& take them in with you!).

I hope you have a great time!

I'm not worried about ruining dinners at this point. I figure for our short 4 & 1/2 days at WDW, schedules & such are out the window anyway. With all of the excitement, I'm not sure if my DDs will be starved or completely forget about food!! Oh well.

Thanks again for all of the suggestions and info. Tyler, I did remember from your earlier post to me a while back that I could not catch a bus to DTD from TTC. Now I understand why! (had read somewhere that after 4:00 HAD to catch ride from TTC to DTD) Glad that changed!! I'm learning & paying attention, can you tell ?? :p ;)

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday !!!

That's the way to be! You're on vacation... don't stress... just have fun :)
