Poly to Dolphin?

I'm planning a long weekend down to Disney for the family (which includes a 2 and 5 year old). We plan to arrive early on a Friday morning, spend the day relaxing and enjoying a resort, and then go to the Not So Scary Halloween party that night. (and enjoy the parks Sat-Mon).

I am currently booked at the Dolphin for the entire time (we stayed at the Swan in April and loved it), but I'm considering booking the Poly for Friday night so that 1) ME from the airport, 2) experience the Poly and enjoy the pools and resort for the day, 3) be very close to our rooms for what will be a late night at the park for 2 little ones.

Here are my questions:
I've read that Disney will transport your bags from resort to resort, but will they move bags from Poly to Dolphin? Is this a good idea to begin with?

Thanks for any comments.

PS. The Poly is ONLY available that Friday.

Hi, I would probably do the same thing that you are doing - try and stick close to the MK for the party night just for convenience.

The Poly will transfer your luggage to the Dolphin for you. It won't be available to you until after 3pm or later on that tfer day. (that could be a bummer for some, but we have done it lots of times) It may be a pain to switch resorts for such a short visit, but that's your option of course.

I don't know if you have ever stayed at the Dolphin? Their pool area is so much nicer IMO than the Poly's. The pool is larger,(less crowded) nice slide, hot tub, actually several pools to choose from. They do not have a zero depth entry like the Poly pool does, however. They have a lovely beach area and rent Swan pedal boats. That boardwalk area is a nice place to spend some time, also. My kids love to rent the surrey bikes there.

Too many choices! I would want to be near the MK, but I wouldn't want to switch resorts for that quickie long weekend trip.

Happy planning!

I would defintley take the Poly the night of the MNSSHP. That would be so great to just jump on the monorail to get home. I'm not sure about the luggage transfer, but maybe you coulld wait list the other 2 nights for the Poly. Maybe somthing will open up for ya.

Thank you both so much for your input! We had the opportunity to experience the Pools and Beach at the Swan/Dolphin last trip, which I agree were very nice (although I got stuck out on the middle of the lake on one of those ducks with the wind blowing!)

If Disney will deliver our bags to the Dolphin, then I'm really excited about getting to experience at least one night at Poly to see first hand what everyone raves about!
