DH and I (no kids) are checking into the Poly on Monday (3 nights), then switching to CR on Thursday (3 nights). What is the best way to go about moving our stuff? DH wants to pack up car and drive to CR Thursday am, but I think it's better to have Disney move our stuff for us and get to MK for EE, then pick up the car at Poly in the afternoon. His main objection is trusting them to get everything from point A to point B. I think it's worse to leave stuff in the car all day.

We plan to play golf on Wednesday using the military special rate of $45 which is only good at Palm and Magnolia, but I hear one of them is closed? Any advice from golfers?

Your advice is greatly appreciated! It's our first time to WDW and first vacation since husband was deployed 18 months ago! Just can't wait!!

Welcome to the DIS!

Personally I would let Disney move the stuff and get over to the parks to enjoy as much time as possible. They move folks stuff everyday - they are good at it.....

I'm not a golfer so I cannot help you there - maybe some of our other posters know this golf stuff!

Check with the resort on this one! We were there last October and we moved twice, from PORRS to CR to WL (they didn't have our last night at CR available after we switched from POR). The first thing we were asked when we wanted them to move our luggage was if we had a car! They said that if we had a car then we had to move it ourselves. But as we flew in and took a towncar to the resorts, we had no way to move our luggage and they did it twice, without a hitch. I was nervous about it, but they did a fabulous job.

You can always take your bags to the CR, leave them with bell services if your room isn't ready (they'll put them in storage for you) and then when the day at the parks or golfing or whatever is done, you can get them to bring the bags to your room.

Definitely check with them whether or not they'll move them if you have a car, cause I'm thinking they won't.

Have a great trip!

Good advice! It hadn't occurred to me that the car would be an issue, I'll give the Poly a call to check on it. I'm glad to hear that the switching went so well for you. Moving to CR was my idea and DH was skeptical! I just want to experience as much as possible! One day til departure and I am BEYOND excited. My poor co-workers!! Thanks for the advice!

Woo hoo! Leaving tomorrow, you must be bouncing like crazy over there! We leave two weeks from today and I'm already having trouble sleeping cause I'm so excited! LOL

Moving resorts in WDW, especially ones as close as Poly and CR doesn't have to be a big deal, assure DH that it won't take up much of your day. Just as long as it takes to move the stuff (if you have to) and check it with bell services if the room isn't ready, then you can get on with the fun :) I always do the check in thang early in the AM at the second resort even if the room isn't ready that way you're all set for the day.

I LOVE CR, if you've never stayed there, it's so cool to watch the monorails go through the fourth floor lobby :)

Have a wonderful time and tell us all about it when you get back!

Golfer here with no knowledge of the hotels. Palm was closed in late May and I remember them saying it would be closed til almost the big Tournament in October. And unfortunately, DH was disappointed in the condition of Magnolia. However, his disappointment may have been just a comparison thing-all the other Disney courses had been in such outstanding condition. So if he'd played Magnolia first, maybe he wouldn't have been disappointed. I just asked him-he said the greens were specifically not in good condition, but otherwise he liked Magnolia and would play it again.
