We are staying at the Polynesian this July and looking at doing the Chef Mickey breakfast one day. In our first version of our plans we were looking at a relaxing day this day, with a late 10:30 breakfast time. We are quickly realizing that our daughter (turning 4 soon) does not believe in the late breakfast concept and every morning starts at 6AM even on vacation. =)

In an attempt to do Chef Mickey earlier that day, only 7:05 is available. I posted a related question about the monorail schedule, but I believe this is well before the monorail starts running.

Would taxi be our only real option for getting to the Contemporary at 7:05?

I think there was another morning we might be able to do 7:30, but again this seems like it is an hour before the monorail begins to run that day (Monday, July 17)

Thanks for any help and advice! Worst case scenario we just have some morning snacks and then do Chef Mickey at our original time. =)

The resort monorail often starts running between 6:30-7:00 am. Even if it's 7:00 and you're 5 minutes late, you'll be okay.

I'd have a snack in the room and do the late breakfast, if it suits you as the parents! No way I could ever go out to breakfast that early on vacation.

We always do snacks in the room for those who want it, and don't eat a real meal until lunch at Disney. I just want coffee and maybe a snack, as did my kids.

We used to order delivery from Garden Grocer, but now use Safeway.

Monorail hours change often, you can't depend on past hours as indicative of the future. Your best bet is to check the Times Guide (available in the lobby) when you are there. This is a good website to bookmark too: http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/p/weekly-walt-disney-world-times-guides.html

As you can see, using this week as an example, the Resort Monorail line starts running every day at 7AM. But that isn't always the case, so you always have to check.

I personally would not depend on the Resort Monorail for a 7:05AM CM ADR if the monorail hours start at 7AM. Not that likely, but you could get some bad luck, start up delays, etc, and suddenly you're not getting to CM until 7:30. I would be fine for a 7:30AM ADR, that seems more reasonable.

Your quickest, most effecient option at that hour would be to take cab/uber from Poly to CR, but that may not be an option you're comfortable with given the age of your daughter with no car seat.

I'm at a bit of a loss as to other options at that hour... I'm sure there are other options (eg, TTC ferry to MK and walk to CR, bus, etc) but I don't have direct experience so don't want to speculate too much.

Good luck!

It's been a while (over a year now) but we took a cab from the Poly to the Contemporary for a 7:10AM ADR at CM. Monorail was not running that early. As we exited the lobby, I spoke to someone at Bell Services who called over a cab that had a car seat available (it was actually a van) and off we went (after I checked the car seat installation; I'm a little obsessive). It was super easy and I think the fare was $7 or thereabouts.

I agree with Caliope. That is what I would do. The resorts are close, the cab will be inexpensive and the fastest route.
