Poly - Tahiti or Samoa

We have lagoon view for March and we are going back and forth over these 2. Please help with any suggestions. I know Tahiti is a little farther from food, monorail, and pool, but the views should be better. Any help. Also, I am getting conflicting info about whether Samoa has lagoon view. Tikiman's site says garden view only for Samoa, but WDW reservations says that Samoa has lagoon view rooms...Any help?

Without trying to sound like a know it all I would not have information on my pages if I had not checked with the Polynesian about its accuracy but I understand your confusion.

You must understand that Disney reservations staff does not know every detail about every resort and the Polynesian views are handled different than most of the other resorts. I have seen similar information come out of the WDW travel and I have gone back to the Polynesian to ask if views have changed. The view situation has not changed and the only buildings with lagoon view (category) are in Tahiti, Aotearoa, Tuvalu and Hawaii with two rooms in Tokelau that are sometimes sold as lagoon view rooms. You can see the lagoon from some of Samoa’s rooms but all rooms in Samoa are under the category of garden view. There are only garden view and lagoon view rooms at the Polynesian but sometimes WDW travel says that there are marina and pool categories and this is completely false.

The rooms have to face the castle and have a view of the lagoon to be considered a lagoon view room (with the two rooms in Tokelau being the exception). This is also why some of the rooms on the north side of Aotearoa are considered a garden view room. They face the same direction but do not have a view of the castle because of Tuvalu and some trees.

Samoa is a great location but you will not see fireworks or the castle from your room in Samoa.
