Poly Studios Lakeview

I am beyond excited. I've splurged and booked a Poly Lakeview studio for a late Feb/early Mar 2017 trip. I am usually an Epcot or DS gal so this will only be the 2nd time I've stayed in the MK area -- and that prior visit was to WL.

I'm hoping to see the fireworks from
my balcony.

Any must dos for a first timer at the Poly?

I have eaten at the GF and WL but never at Poly or Contemporary.

Request a third floor room for better fireworks view.

You can order an 'Ohana feast from room service and also most of Kona's menu. Order room service one night an hour before fireworks and create your very own 'dinner show'.

In one of the stores, in front of EPCOT I think, we bought the soundtrack to Wishes and converted it to my ITunes acct / phone. My kids ask to play it in the car all the time. I wish DVC would pipe Wishes over one of their TV channels (they run it on speakers in bungalows and you can faintly here it from grounds on studio balcony). I normally start it on my phone when fireworks start and we listen as well. It doesn't have to be exactly sync'd to get the feel. I'm sure you could find a copy on eBay or somewhere.

Bring a small table fan both to circulate the air and as white noise for the ferry horn. I live (and so sleep) about a quarter mile from a train track. Random horn noises at night don't wake me up, but it bothers some. The fan will help.

I'm excited for you. Poly Lake View is where we love to stay.

While you can see the fireworks from your balcony, you can also walk down to the beach area in front of the Hawaii long house, and they will have the Wishes music coming from loudspeakers.

Thank you for the 'dinner in' suggestion -- I would never have thought of that.

And for the tips about the horn. I wonder if it's worse than the Boardwalk bc I stay there all the time near the canal and it doesn't bother me.

I'm still stunned that at six months out I could get 5 nights at the Poly. I love DVC!

If you've never eaten at Poly or Contemporary, you must try Ohana and/or California Grill. AMAZING! BLT is our home but we loved our Poly studio (no lake view) in February this year for a long weekend trip. Enjoy it!
