i am booking the Poly for a trip in May. Surprisingly there is a standard room or a studio available. What are the differences? Are the studios located in particular buildings? I’m a moderate (or Pop) girl and this trip is a special treat,

Studios are only in three buildings: Tokelau, Pago Pago, and Moorea. These are the three buildings closest to the TTC, and somewhat furthest from the Grand Ceremonial House. Every studio has a patio/balcony, but has only one real bed (a queen), a pull out couch and a murphy bed. There is an extra shower, which some will refer to as "an extra bathroom."

A Standard Room is in most of the other buildings (but not in Hawaii or Tonga, and maybe not Samoa any more). Those on second floor do not have a balcony. There are two queen beds and a daybed that sleeps one.

Studios have free laundry available in the Moorea building I believe. All 3 DVC studio buildings are located right next to the walkway to the TTC. We have stayed in both and feel that the actual usable room size is larger in the regular rooms but we loved the quiet atmosphere in the studios as well as the microwave.

The Studios also have a microwave, which for us was important. The extra shower is also a bonus for us. No more, rock, paper, scissors to see who gets up 1st.

Thanks everyone. I booked the studio for our May trip.
Now, any recommendations on which building? I really want a balcony and would love a water view, but close to the main building

I stayed in a studio with a water view in the building closest to the TTC. It was wonderful. The view was a full front water view and not that bad a walk to the lobby and pool.

All DVC studios have a patio or balcony. Tokelau is the most requested building, and the couple of castle view units are the most requested rooms.
