OK, I know this has been asked many times, but we are going to be at the Poly in Oct for the first time and need help on what to request. We have 4 young kids so we are looking mainly for a good location with convenience to the GCH for monorail access. However I also would like to be able to walk to the TTC as we will go to Epcot a couple of times. We have a Garden View room.

Ideally, we wouldn't look out on the monorail.

Thoughts?

Welcome to the DIS!

Tokelau is centrally located - both 2nd and 3rd floor have a balcony, one side is next to quiet pool and the other gardens facing Tahiti and Rapa Nui Longhouses. Would be about 4/5 mins (maybe less) walk to GCH and a bit longer to TTC, but not much.

We stayed in this longhouse several times with little ones and it seemed a perfect location!

Have you checked out tikiman's site? Cannot add the link here, but you could google tikiman 2001 (no space between the two). Lots of helpful info there.

Hope this helps!

We always request Tokelau (4 stays there so far), the location is perfect for us with 3 children. Close to the TTC and a quiet pool right outside our door. Also, not too far from GCH. I will let the children walk to Captain cook's to get muffins in the mornings and they have no trouble finding their way.

have fun!

We had a first floor Tokelau room last October, and it was a great location. We had a short walk to Captain Cooks, and a quiet pool was just steps off of our patio. You could really hear the fireworks going off every night too.

I will add myself to the Tokelau group as to location - both GCH and TTC. You won't be looking at the monorail in any room in Tokelau. Remember that a request is just that - especially at Poly. We have had good luck and bad luck getting what we asked for.

BuzzLightyearDad,
The Polynesian is not very big and the longest walk you will have is around 6 minutes (to the TTC). My favorite longhouse (so far) has been Samoa. It has the volcano pool on one side and the quite pool on the other. Samoa is very close to the GCH (maybe 45 secs.). If you are lucky enough to get Samoa/volcano pool side, you will have a great view of the lagoon and the Grand Floridian. The only drawback to staying at the Poly - you feel really bad on your last day...
