I would like to book a week at the poly resort for Dec. 2004 on points. How far in advance can I book it? Also has anyone tried the concierge rooms there? It sounds like fun.

You can start booking at 11 month from your check-out date.

You could ask about the concierge rooms over on the resort forum. Those folks talk about them alot.

Yes, I have stayed at the Poly lagoon view concierge using points (weekend never the less).
It was a great time, with perhaps the best view in all of WDW. That being said, it was a lot of points. I would only use points for that stay if you have left over points. In other words, I wouldn't borrow, or skimp in other places to do it. Many will think that concierge level is not worth the extra points over 'regular' level.
I guess I am one who thinks it's okay, as I have three nights AKL concierge booked for April.

Have fun!...

When we first joined DVC our resale contracts we fully loaded and we had a lot of points to use quickly.

I booked 4 nights Beach Club Concierge (before BCV opened) and 5 nights Poly lagoon view concierge. (great way to burn thru a whole mess of points BTW)

We loved the Poly.... and thought it was worth the points. Larger room than BC, better food offerings (in our minds anyways) loved the themeing and being on the monorail. We plan on staying at the Poly again on points, but for a weekend before we check into our 2 bedroom DVC resort. And now we can stay at BCV on points in our beloved 2 bedroom.

Now.... along the same lines.... We just got back from a trip where we stayed at AKL concierge (not on points) before checking into our 2 bedroom at VWL and both DH and I agree that the points needed to stay at AKL concierge is not worth it. But we didnt care for the resort...

I do know that the Poly Concierge building (Hawaii) has been rehabbed, heck it might still be under rehabb (ask over in the resorts board, they know everything! LOL) That is the building we stayed in. The rooms are larger than most, the building is in a wonderful location, right next to the beach and pool, and a short walk to the main building. We loved it there. Great pool, monorail... worth useing the points for... In our opinion.

Have fun planning your trip!

I agree with the other posters, the resort board has tons of info on the Poly concierge, but I thought I would offer my 2 cents. We stay Poly concierge, and love it!! Yes it certainly is fun. We have never used our points to stay there though, always have paid cash. Just my opinion, but for us it is not a good use of points, way too many taken away from our beloved DVC resorts!!! LOL!! Sometimes you can get a good rate, just this August we stayed there a week with the FairyTale package. Yes concierge is currently being housed in the Tahiti building (which we really enjoyed by the way), but from what I hear they are supposed to be back in Hawaii Oct. 18. I will say that a CM told us in August that they were running way behind schedule. Who knows?? A CM told us last year that they were planning on a new DVC resort at the Poly. We figured he was pulling our legs, but believe me, I would be the first in line! Anyway, I would look into a possible discount before I used points. Good Luck and Aloha!!

Thanks everybody for the info. I stayed in a regular lagoon view room at the poly on my honeymoon 6 years ago for 10 days. It was fantastic. The best hotel I ever stayed in. I just bought into SSR for 200 points. I was going to get the concierge room for 4 nights on points and 2 nights on cash. We will only be going one time next year.
