Poly rehab info ?

Wondering how the rehab has been going at the Poly? Have they finished or opened up any "new" rooms yet. With the new furniture etc... .

I read from Tikiman's site that Tahiti will be going next? Or Rapa Nui? In March when we where there I thought they where working on Tokelau, lots of mattresses, and workers around and going in and out of Tokelau. The building was still open thou. Although not as many lights on in it as usual.

They where also doing work on the "gas" pipes around the quiet pool area, for the torches & digging up pipping for them also. This was a pretty big job, going on in early to mid March. Not sure if this is done yet.

Anything new to add? Or update? Thanks, Mky

Gah! I hope they dont mess with the torches! Its what makes the poly the poly!

I have never been to the Poly, but staying there on my next trip...in 6 days! I have high expectations from everything I've read about it. I only hope I'm not disappointed because of construction.

Just got back from the Poly and all is well and beautiful. We were in Raritonga (which hasn't been rehabbed yet) and it was just beautiful, and peaceful too! We didn't notice any construction going on. The evening torch lighting ceremony was great. I love those torches - they absolutely are one of the magical touches that makes an evening at the Polynesian so perfect. By the way - for everyone planning to have breakfast at the Kona Cafe - the Tonga toast is the way to go! Aloha.
