ok i am liking the sounds of this place-seems like it would satisfy us and the kids-anyone know how to get a great rate???? for sept-also can 3 adults and three lil ones stay together? 5 2 and 2?? why dont they do mousekeeping there? bummer!

If you're looking for a discount at the Poly, in September, consider checking rates through AAA or purchasing Annual Passes. If you are a FL resident, then check for resident rates, as well. They have Free Dining, during this time, but I don't recall seeing a rate for deluxe resort guests (someone please correct this, if I'm wrong). But, September is in the value season, so the rates are great during this time of year, to begin with :goodvibes

Also, I think the maximum at the Poly is 4 per room. Although, I don't see a problem with 6 because of the sofa daybeds that can be converted into an actual bed. We've stayed at the BWI-Club, with 3 Ad/3 Ch, for New Years before. One of the value resorts have Family Suites- I think its Pop Century, CSR has suites and AKL has bunk beds, but this may not be a good choice with 3 adults. Have you considered renting points from a DVC member on the board? This is, also, a great option to stay on property, get the dining plan and save a lot of
money

I'm not sure what you mean by "why don't they do mousekeeping?" Mousekeeping=Housekeeping. All resorts have this service.

Happy Planning :cool1:

I actually think you can all be in one room The Poly holds 5, plus one under the age of 3 in a crib. So you should be ok.

And I'm not sure what you will find as far as a great rate. The discount they were offering for next month was $100 off a night, but that still left it at $300 a night, plus tax. And with 3 adults you will have to pay an extra $25 a night.

The Poly is a great resort. I'm sure you would have a wonderful time there.:)

We stay at the Poly often and you can have 5 in a room. We always do this. Don't think you can do 6 though unless it's in a suite. As for the daybeds, yes they convert...but only into a twin bed...and not a very large one. I would look into the DVC resorts for the amount of people in your family. And I also don't know what you mean by the Mousekeeping comment. This is available at all resorts. Good luck planning!! :)

thanks guys---yes the kids will be 5 3 and 2-but the agent says to say they are both 2 since one is turning aug 1. the other adult is our niece(built in sitter:cool1: ) but still not sure if shes coming
on disney moms they rec PO or CBR
i was leaning towards poly because of the monorail with the kids-i cant see staying at ASM in animal kingdom when most time will be spent in MK? napping quick changes...etc. what do you think? i am worried if i stay at a value hotel-after the kids are asleep there leaves no ambience for us....am i wrong? no balcony etc

oh also on trip advisors they were bummed that mousekeeping no longer did cute things in rooms for the lil ones--they are thought that was a big dis appointment....
i like the idea of watching the fireworks from there with sleepy kids

So you're going to LIE about your child's age? That's wrong, and doesn't set a good example for your kids. Get your flame suit on...

The OP said their travel agent told them to lie. I'd find a new travel agent very quickly!

But you will be fine. The rooms at Polynesian are quite large. As someone else posted, room occupancy is 5 plus one under 3 so you will be legal even if your niece does join you.

It won't matter to Disney that the kids are 3 and 2, not 2 and 2. It makes no difference at the Poly, as it holds 5 plus one under the age of 3 in a crib. And that is what you will have. But--If you plan on returning to Disney make sure you give them the correct ages. They store that info in their computer, and will keep track of your children's ages and use that info for any other trips you make.

I agree, a TA telling you to lie is not good! I would be worried what else they are doing that is not right.

Even if my TA told me to lie, I would know it's wrong :confused3
but it is RIGHTfor WDW to claim a 10 year old child is an ADULT

now, I don't agree with lying about a childs age, but I wish people would stop screaming ethics seeing as half the things done by this corporation are unethical.

You go to Disney, you agree to abide by their rules. So there is a big difference between what they charge, and someone lying about their childs age. If you don't like Disney and their policies, don't go. Just like I don't shop at Macy's because I don't like their prices. I shop at Target. Same thing.

I agree, there is no reason to lie and I would be seeking out a new TA as soon as possible. We are a family of 6, DH and I, kids 11,9,3 and an infant and we are booked at the Poly for some of the same reasons you want to stay there. Monorail etc. Like the previous posters said, Disney does keep that info on file.

::yes::

Disney doesn't call it ADULT prices either. They call it ages 10+.

I don't think the TA was lying for the sake of room occupancy either. More like a 2 yr old has free park entrance. I wouldn't trust someone with such jaded ethics.

Oh, I agree. I wasn't referring to what they charge. I was referring to their unethical practices which people are apparently blind to.

I certainly wouldn't be spending this kind of money if it wasn't for my children. It an amusemnet park. I may not like it, but I am going to pay it for my kids. which is exactly why they are able to do what they do.

I don't agree with lying about a kids age but I also don't agree with the company tracking people. I have never been there, but when I made my ressies, THE CM said "I see you have four children, ages, 10,9,6&3 (he's turned 4 since). That, to me, is creepy.

Yes, there is a difference

Every single time I have spoken to a Disney CM, they have referred to my 10 year old as an adult. Each time, I have corrected them, very politely stating that I understand Disney will charge my 10 year old as an adult, But my ELEMENTARY school child is not an adult. So, yes they do call them ADULTS

We are having to pay adult prices for our DS10 (will be 11 at the time of trip) for the first time. At first I wasn't happy about it at all, especially with us using the DDP. However I have noticed lately that we have been letting him order off the adult menu when we go out and he eats all his food. Heck sometimes, he can out eat me. I'm 5'5" and he comes up to my forehead, wears a men size 7 shoe (same as me), and is pretty thin. At least for my DS the kids meals just wouldn't fill him up, so I have no problem paying adult price for him.
Also, when I booked the trip I was so excited about booking our first WDW trip at Christmas-time, that I forgot DS10 would have a birthday by our trip. He is actually going to be 11 at the time of our trip, not 10 like I put when I booked the trip on line. As soon as I noticed it, I called them and they told me not to worry. I tried to get them to change it, but so far they haven't. They just said that if I had put he was 9 and he was going to be 10 they would change it. Then it would be the difference between him being charged as a child vs being charged as an adult. Eventhough, I've been told by a couple of CM's not to worry about it, I still am.
