Poly Question?

We are trying to decide where to stay. We stayed at the WL last year and really loved it, but were thinking about the POLY this time. We are wondering about the distance between buildings within the resort. How does it compare to the WL as far as getting drinks, doing laundry, getting to the transportation, etc..
When we stayed at POFQ, we felt that it was too long of a walk back from the bus at night with sleeping children to carry, but we felt that the WL was good. Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the DIS, Screennameless. I'll be the first to weigh in on this, but be assured others will join in. I've never stayed at WL, but have stayed at the Poly several times. The walk between buildings is not as long as some would lead you to believe, especially since the walks are through beautiful gardens with Hawaiian music playing and tiki torches glowing at night. The Poly is awesome, cause:
A: You can see the fireworks at the MK from the beach, and from some rooms;
B: You have all the park transportation available, i.e. the Monorail from the Great Ceremonial House; a boat from the dock straight to the Magic Kingdom, the buses, and the short walk to the Transportation Center for a quick ride to EPCOT.

Poly is awesome!

It kind of depends on which building you are in, look at the maps and request what you think will work. If you are near the center then take the monorail right to the Lobby of the hotel, if you prefer the trans and ticket center to be close to all transport, MK EPCOT and all the bus accessible ones then request Rapa Nuie

That is where I stay because it has the fully accessible rooms and makes it easy to get around on my scooter.
