Yes, just the two of us this year! I tried inviting a few other people, but nobody was able to get off work, and those who could wouldnt be able to afford a vacation, so it came down to just the two of us, which worked out wonderfully! We were able to do pretty much whatever we felt like, without having to come to a group consensus.
Our last (and only other!) trip to WDW was last May for 3 days before our cruise. Having never been there before, 3 days was obviously FAR from being enough to see everything we wanted to, so the moment I got home, I started planning another trip! (Come on, you know you all do it too!) I decided on the first part of May again, since it is in between Spring Break, and the time when the crowds get big and the weather gets hot. This turned out to be a great choice again, but more about that later!
Our original reservation was for 4 nights/5 days (May 1-5) at the Wilderness Lodge. I later decided to add on April 30, so that we wouldnt have to waste the day we flew out, and planned on getting a cheap hotel for that night. Well, then around the beginning of April when we decided to make our flight reservations through Priceline, it turned out that it was cheaper to fly home on May 7th, and so the decision was made to add two MORE days! About a week before we left, I finally got around to making the reservations for the 30th, 5th, and 6th. I should mention first that I decided to buy an AP, and therefore cut the cost of our room at the Lodge down from $1078 to around $720 for the four nights- that means that reservation savings alone practically paid for my pass! Well, as if luck werent going good enough, I then managed to book Port Orleans Riverside (which I still call Dixie Landings!) for the 30th for only $93! However, nothing was available for the 5th and 6th, so I booked a room at Holiday Inn for those nights.
Finally, after months and months of planning, The Day had arrived! Continue on to Part 1 to see if we survive the adventure
