...when we last left our heros, they had traveled almost all the way around the world before lunch, and were just leaving Le Cellier after stuffing themselves silly...and now..

Day 3, Part 2! - The part I couldn't think of a title for because I am posting it at 4:48 am!

By now we were exhausted from our trip around the world, and perfectly stuffed from our lunch, and ready for a nap! We made the long trek back to the monorail, and I couldn’t help by wonder how ironic it is that you go *down* the monorail ramp when you are still fresh and new, but you have to climb *up* it when you are exhausted and going home! When we got on the monorail, it was a little crowded, and I thought it was *so* cute when a little girl about 5 hopped up and said “Have a seat!” to someone. She had pigtails, and was just the cutest thing ever :) The lady sitting next to us asked if our tattoos were real :D

Back at the lodge, I considered sitting in the hot tub, but it was too full, so I bought postcards and went up to the 5th floor sitting area to write about the day in my notebook so that I wouldn’t forget things when I finally got around to writing my trip report ( I certainly didn't expect it to be over 4 months later!). The sitting area on the 5th floor was occupied, so I went down the 4th, which was also full, so I went to the third. I was really, really glad I did, because this ended up being my favorite spot! There were two REALLY comfy leather chairs and a couch and table. It was so much quieter than my couch in the lobby that I was tempted to just curl up there by the fire and sleep! I finally went back up to the room for my real nap. We slept until about 5:30, and it was back to Epcot!

The Boone bus pulled up right as we arrived at the stop, once again. What service! ;) After we got on, I heard a little boy remark “This is a nice bus!” :D I love comments from kids! Our first stop once we got back to Epcot was to see our picture from earlier. Amazingly, it was pretty good of both of us, with the big ol’ ball in the background, so we bought a copy for $13. The photo guy also asked us if our tattoos were real, and showed us his, which was. :) Next it was off to the Living Seas, one of my favorites at Epcot. The ride itself could use some rehab.. but I love the “Sea Base Alpha” at the end of it. We were smart enough to skip the movie before the ride this time- mom fell asleep in it last year! I love the room where you wait to board the “Hydrolators”. They project a green wavy design onto the walls, giving it a very watery effect, and the time until the doors open flashes in red ever 30 seconds or so. Its just... neat! For lack of a better word ;-) My favorite thing to do is sit by the glass of one of the big aquariums and just stare. I love the fish that have this expression on their face like they’re constantly saying “Uhhhhh....” :D This time, I was amazed to see the dolphins in one of the big tanks. They weren’t there last year! There were 2 that swam right by us several times, and I was so excited! I’d never seen a dolphin in person before. I’d really love to take the dolphins in depth tour someday! We also saw some sharks and rays, and a Manatee who refused to turn around and face our video camera- meanie! In one of the side rooms were jellyfish under a black ilght- very cool- surreal! It was hard to believe that they are an animal (fish? um.. invertabrate?... carbon based life form?). We watched some lionfish, and mom said “Those are the ugliest things I’ve ever seen in my life!” I have her on video staring into the tank saying “Crystal, its staring at me!” Next we watched some Moray eels...
“When you swim in the sea and something bites your knee, thats a Moray!”

Next it was on to seahorses, but the real attraction there was a little white fish at the bottom of the tank that kept getting a moutful of the tank gravel, and spitting it enthusiastically off in some other direction! He was SO cute, we got him on video, and still laugh watching it! He did this over and over for the whole time we were there. At one point he got a huge mouthful, swam towards us a few inches, and spit it right at us! Such a ham ;) The seahorse sighn said that they form long-term pairs and remain faithful, participating in an elaborate meeting dance just after dawn every day. The female swims to the male, and they both change colors. The *MALE* becomes pregnant when the female deposits her eggs in his pouch, and HE carries them untilt hey hatch! How’s that for a turn on things, DIS ladies!?

It was getting a bit darker now, and time for us to stake out a place for Illuminations. On the way, we stopped at Trapper Bob’s for beavertails! We decided to each get one, and split them so that we would each have half of a different flavor. I got the apple cinnamon, and mom got the maple chocolate. I had been telling her about them for ages, and we were not disappointed! They were warm and gooey and wonderful! We knew a lot of people watched it from the Rose & Crowne, and found a pretty decent viewing area right next to it that wasn’t occupied. We stood there eating our Beavertails, and just enjoying life. I’d give just about anything to be standing there with my beavertail waiting for Illuminations to start right now!!! I’m not sure why, but I was *much* more impressed with Illumations this year than last year. Last year I thought it was “okay”, but not quite up to my expectations, but this year I really, really liked it, and it brought tears to my eyes! It was the exact same show, so I’m not sure why it effected me differently, but it did! It really made me appreciate how lucky I was to get to be on such a great vacation with my mom.

We joined the mass exodus out of the parks, and I smiled at the sparkling sidewalks. Those are one of my favorite things. Oh, fine, I have about a million favorite things at WDW! :) The crowds leaving after Illuminations are just unbelievable! I held my camera up and took a picture, but it still doesn't do the crowd justice! We were just too tired for the whole monorail to TTC and then bus to WL thing, so we decided to just take a bus straight back to the WL. The bus was completely *packed*, as to be expected- Tons of people standing. The bus driver was, however, waiting a few minutes before we left. Someone remarked “Maybe he’s waiting for more people!” and everyone (all 9874393287 of us on that little bus) laughed. There’s just a bond between exhausted people crammed on a bus sardine-style.

I finished writing in my notebook from my bunk bed while watching the Incredible Journey, and then fell asleep, with plans to get up at 7:30 for Animal Kingdom.

Day 3 Favorites: (as written in my notebook)
*Little girl on the monorail.
*Living Seas Dolphins
*Beavertails during Illuminations
*Right Now*- relaxing by the fire, looking out at the lodge.

Thanks for the trip report. It sounds like a great day!

"That's a Moray" is one of my favorite songs! When I got to the part of your report that had a line from the song in it I just sang right along. You are a fantastic writer. You write like I sometimes think! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience at WDW with us and take care!

Poly Princess - thank you so much for making the wait until our next trip to the World so much more enjoyable with your great reports!
