We were planning to stay at the Poly in Jan. for 8 nights with regular dining. It will be me, DH, and 3 boys-age 9. We planned to go to US for just 1 day, but already paid for a room at RPR there at the start of our trip, which we may or may not use. We are primarily using it for EP, but may decide to stay and go a second day at US. It will depend on how much we like the parks and how much we can get to in one day. We started to consider doing a split stay with BC, primarily to try something different, and not wanting to give up time at the Poly. Our primary reason to do it wasn’t money, but there is a small savings of $288 if we stay 4 nights at BC and 4 at Poly. POR was only considered as a means to save more, as 4 nights there and 4 at Poly is a savings of about $1,000, which is money that we could put towards tickets at Universal. That said, I’m honestly just feeling like it’s just not worth it to us to move around this much, especially when we still have plans to Uber to US for a day. Am I right to feel this way? If we really want to experience BC, couldn’t we just eat a meal in that area while visiting the Boardwalk. We are going in January, so I’m not placing a huge value on the pool. We want to try US so bad as our boys like Harry Potter, but our Disney trip last time of staying put for a week at the Poly was so relaxing. I’m reluctant to stray from what worked for us before. What should we do?

We did a split stay at the Poly and BC (club level) a few years back. Making the switch was simple. the resorts took care of everything. If I had it to do over again, I'd definitely stay at the BC first, then go to the Poly. We felt really cramped at the BC after having had SO much room at the POLY. IMHO you cant beat the POLY, it's always my first choice.

Without the pool, the only advantage of BC is its proximity to EP and DHS, so you are cutting down on travel time to those parks. If that doesn’t interest you or or creates more hassle to switch resorts, I would stick to Poly for your trip.
