Poly pool less crowded?

We were at the Poly over Memorial Day weekend, and never saw the pool gates working. Most times when we walked by, the pool gates were propped open, so anyone could come in and use the pool. Probably why we couldn't find an open pool lounger when we tried to use the new pool.

I wonder if they are still having intermittent issues with the gates?
When we left (Saturday before Mother's day), a manager told us they had intermittent issues with the gates. They opted to turn off the gates just before the weekend. He told us the gates would be turned on after Mother's day was over.

Based on his words for Mother's Day weekend, I wonder if they turned them off from Memorial Day weekend and re-enabled them afterwards?

Sure hope the gates are in working order during the busy July 4th weekend...since that's when we'll be staying there and I have plans for us to spend a LOT of time at the pool!

I'm guessing there might be a lot of people from the Magic Kingdom just looking to cool off for a little while. Both on and off property guests. Which makes me curious if they do the same thing with the boardwalk pool.

Same thing happens at the BWV pool. I'm hoping they put fences with gates around the pools there as well.

It seems like the BW clown pool would be very easy to fence off- isn't it surrounded by walls already with specific entrances on two sides?

We stayed at BC but spent an evening resort hopping and ended up at Poly last week. I'm used to the constant presence at BC (always a CM at the entrances of the pool) so I thought the Poly gates were a bit useless. I can't tell you how many times I saw a person being nice and hold the gate for someone else- seemed too easy to sneak in. We didn't of course but just stating an observation.

Same can be said about club level really. We got lost getting to California Grill and a nice woman thought we were trying to get to Club level and let us right in. It wasn't until we were up there that we realized the mistake.

We just got back from AKV and WLV, the Kidadi pool gate and the main WL pool do not have card readers....why they put fences in without card readers is beyond me...
