We are trying to choose between the POLY & YC for a short stay. We will be staying concierge (we've never done this before, but we have some DVC pts we need to use & decided to give it a try) in 2 adj. rooms. We have 5 kiddos ages 3-13. We have stayed at the BCV, so we know YC has SAB, but we're trying to look at all our options. What do you think?:D Thanks! Love being able to bounce :bounce: things off of fellow Disney-fanatics!!

I would go with the Poly. I'll tell you why I chose it for my trip in June.

1- Watch fireworks from beach
2- Very kid friendly
3- Larger rooms
4- Monorail (my kids love it)
5- MK convenience
6- Volcano Pool
7- Tonga Toast for breakfast!

I'm sure YC is very nice, but the Poly looks a little more "fun". YC looks like where I'd stay with no kids.

I say go with the Poly since I do not want everyone finding out how Awesome the Yacht club is!!! :)

Samsma--Thanks for giving those great reasons!! My 2 oldest daughters & I are leaning towards the POLY, but DH is pushing for the YC. LOL Tnkrbell!! We really did love that area when we were at the BCV. We walked our 3 yr old DS in his stroller every night to the YC to get him to sleep! So, are you going to give my DH some ammo, or are you keeping it all to yourself!?!;)

I like the YC way better than the Poly (we stayed at both in one trip). I just like how bright and fresh the YC is. I also love the location of it. There are pluses and minuses to both resorts. The monorail at the Poly is very cool, but my kids loved the boat at YC, too. They both have great pools. I guess the biggest thing I didn't like about the Poly was the dark, dank rooms - and the cast members we encountered there were pretty unpleasant for the most part (but this was a few years ago).

We had the privilege of staying at both the Poly and the YC last year. While we thoroughly enjoyed both resorts, for us, the YC won hands down. It is our favorite WDW resort :D !! The location was very convenient, and the newly renovated rooms are so nice.

I know you'll have a great time, whichever resort you choose!

I absolutely love the theming of the Poly, and the location is great with kids,
but my favorite is the Yacht Club.... I love the new decor, the location, SAB... everything!
the rooms are bigger at the Poly, bu you are getting 2 rooms anyway, so not an issue.

I would try to make a decision based on th theme and locationthat you prefer more!

Have Fun! :)

Laura :)

We couldn't decide on this either - we're ending up splitting our stay between the two in September. :) I can't wait!

Hi!! :) Ok Ill give you my Opinion!! :)
We just went to Disney for 6 nights! We were suppose to stay the whole time at the Poly (our first time) well we ended up giving the Poly two nights then we headed out!!
Friends of ours were staying at the same time as us and thought the poly was fine and couldnt understand why I didnt like it.
Then we switched to Yacht well they then understood!!! :)
They couldnt believe the difference!! It is so much cleaner and brighter. We found the CM to be much more friendly here but then again it could be the times we ran into them. (I know everyone has had different experiences)
Also the pool at Yacht and beach just blows Poly out of the water! (No pun inteneded!!! lol )
WE enjoy walking to Epcot and MGM also Boardwalk is fun.
We LOVE cape May!!! YUMMY!!!
I have pics of Polys concierge if you would like to see them!
Gol with your hubby you wont regret it!! (although I may regret telling you this ;) :) )

Absolutely, positively Yacht Club. I really didn't like the Poly - mostly due to the age of the resort. YC is so fresh and clean and beautiful. The location just can't be beat. :D

tnkrbell,

Great pictures. We're thinking of changing our ressies from BWI to YC concierge. We stayed Poly concierge in December and enjoyed it but I agree with you. It felt dark and the CM's weren't overly friendly. We love the idea of the Epcot resorts, we've never stayed there before, and originally booked the BWI concierge. I've been reading such great things about the YC that I'm really leaning towards it :p I have one question for you if you don't mind. Did you notice a big difference in the room size from the Poly to the YC:confused: Thanks again for the pics!

Tracy

Hi Tracy!
As far as the room itself no! THe bathroom may have been bigger at teh Poly but it also was inclosed into one room! and if it is bigger it is not that noticible in my opinion.I prefer a sink seperate!! Let me look and see if I have pics of te room at Yacht I dont think I have any good ones. And show you. Tikiman has GREAT pics of the poly! I think If I had never stayed at the Yacht I would like the poly.

tnkrbell,
Thank you SO much for the great pictures:jester: The room looks so bright and cheerful and I like the idea of a separate sink and bathroom area. With 2 13 year olds it'll come in handy:p I think I'll be changing my ressies:bounce: :Pinkbounc Thanks for helping me make the decision!!!!!

Tracy

I really dont think you will regret it!! Especially with two 13 year olds!! They will LOVE SAB!! Also walking to Epcot and mgm is GREAT!! :) Im glad I could help I know the pic of the room is not the best but it gives you an idea!! :)

OK, Tnkrbell, I think you've convinced me!!!;) The pictures were great--thanks for sharing them! As I mentioned, we stayed at BCV before & loved it--we bought DVC w/ that as our home resort specifically b/c of location & SAB. As much as I love monorail & all that, I think ultimately we like bright & cheery, Boardwalk, & SAB (& you're right, Cape May is yummy!). Maybe we'll just plan on hitting O'hana for dinner during our stay to get a touch of the POLY. Thanks to everybody for the replies! Now I just hope when I call Member Services on Monday they have my dates available!!
