Hi there!
We are a family of 4 (kids age 9 & 5), been to Disney once before, stayed at OKW. We're considering either the Poly (like the convenience of the monorail) or the WL (bunk beds look fun!). Not sure if we'll spend more time at MK or Epcott with a 9 yr old? Any opinions???
Thanks.
:confused3

I have stayed at both, and if you can make it work finanically I would say the POLY would be the best. Rooms are bigger, grounds are more lush and there is nothing like watching the Fireworks from the beach at night. Any more questions feel free to ask.

I am sure your kids will love both no matter which you choose. :cloud9: I am a big WL fan, but if you have the $ than go for the Poly as it is on the monorail...

Is it true that there are animal heads on the walls at WL?
Don't think we would like this.

Poly ! We hated the WL pool and Poly is closer to EPCOT and MK by monorail.
DO the Poly - you will not be disappointed !

I finally just decided on the Poly. I was torn between the WL and Poly as well, but I figured we'll be eating at the WL at one point and can enjoy the lobby and decorations then.

The real deciding factor for me is that the Poly is on the monorail. Our first WDW trip was a couple of months ago and we stayed at Pop and used the bus system. While I had no real issues with it (other than someone throwing up on the bus and having to deal with the smell for the rest of the trip), I want more convenience, kwim?

I had the same delimma over the resort for our December trip. When I booked the trip we had a MK view room at the Poly. After many nights of not being able to sleep I changed it to the WL. We had stayed at the WL on our 2006 trip. We all loved the WL. I kept finding pictures of the WL at Christmas time on this site. I just couldn't imagine being at WDW at Christmas time and not staying at the WL. I know we could have visited the WL and stayed at the Poly. To me that would be just like someone bringing me a slice of a Godiva chocolate cheesecake, and letting me look at it and smell it, but not letting me eat it. I have never been able to keep a Disney trip a secret. What my DS'd don't know about this trip is they are finally getting that bunk bed room at the WL they have wanted since our first trip in 2004.
Personally I would stay at the WL. It might help if you show your family pics from this site of both of the resorts and see which one they like better.

Although out upcoming visit to Poly will be our first at this resort, we have stayed at WL before. Certainly no complaints about the resort itself, but we really love the convenience of being on the monorail. WL's transportation is boat and bus only, and we really LOVE riding the monorail. It's super convenient for MK and Epcot. WL is nice, but it just did not stand out as being exceptional in our opinion. We saved about a thousand dollars by staying there, but dh says he still prefers being on the monorail, and so do I. Poly if it is financially do-able for you!!

Having stayed at both the WL and the Poly and loving both resorts for different reasons, you really can't go wrong with either one. But with that said, if the Poly is affordable, I'd go with the Poly :). The rooms are bigger and they have a daybed (twin size) so each child can have their own bed. Plus you can't beat the convenience of the monorail along with having the beach to sit and watch the fireworks and the view of the castle while swimming :cutie:. Both resorts have great theming and both are beautiful and have many advantages. We especially love the WL during the Christmas holiday.......the decorations at the WL beat out all the other resorts at Christmas time, IMO....but other times we really enjoy the Poly :goodvibes. We have also had the bunk beds at the WL and our 2 DS's loved them...so that is a plus for the WL :yay:. It's really a tough choice because they are both awesome resorts with great pools/surroundings, but if you want a little more room and a little more convenience (monorail), the Poly would be the way to go. Good luck deciding and have fun planning :dance3:.
