Poly or Grand Floridian

OK - I am really confused - Last year (Nov 2006) we (hubby and 5year old son) stayed at the Poly and truly loved it. I loved the convenience of the Monorail, the pool and the location of our room (right next to the guest house). This year the price for the Grand Floridian will be less during or stay because the Poly only has the lagoon or higher rooms left. I am excited about the G.F. but hope its as nice as the Poly. Should I keep trying to get the garden view at the Poly or just stick with the G.F.

I have stayed at both the Poly and the GF. I liked both, with my preference being the Poly. Both resorts are very pretty and host lots of families with children. The resorts each offer a different ambiance. GF is more formal and a bit subdued compared to the Poly, which is more relaxed and has a palpable energy.

The GF has some special features not found elsewhere. These include live music in the lobby (pianist during the day and band at night), great assortment of dining options, and the best shopping of any Disney resort.

Well since the GF is going through some room renovations...apparently there is a good chance you'll get moved to the Poly! So I'd go with the lowest rate. LoL. I spent some time at the GF this last trip because of the pirate cruise and a character meal and I thought the place looked beautiful and it was very quiet. Have a great trip.

We've stayed at both and would choose GF over Poly anyday. Now, Poly is nice, and we enjoyed it. (that's where we honeymooned) But the GF was WOW!! The staff treated us like we were so important. The lobby is grand, and they have a piano player in the lobby. It was great!! By far, our favorite resort in WDW.

Since you have this opportunity to stay there at a great rate, I would go for it!!

We have stayed at Poly many times and absolutely love it. We have never stayed at GF and have no desire to do so.

We've stayed at both too many times to count. The POLY is my favorite, however, the GF is a close second.

Since you've stayed at the POLY, I suggest that you experience the GF, I bet you will enjoy it.

I had to decide b/w the Poly and the GF too, and chose the poly. The GF seems beautiful, but mabye - just a lil' TOO beautiful.. if that makes any sense.
The room decor (all the frills and such) is just not me.. I loved the new redone poly rooms! And the poly concierge room view looks unbelievable! We ended up with a LV concierge room at the poly, and i am sooo excited..
However, i am SURE you will be thrilled with either hotel! I am sure to most they both have their plus's and minuses.

I would stick with the GF. Why not try them both?? I love trying the different resorts instead of sticking with the same one.
