Poly or Grand Floridian Deluxe Studio?

Depending on when you plan to go, you may not have a choice since you are booking at 7 months. Poly is more likely to be available at 7 months than is VGF.

Between those two, I’d go Poly for the extra space for 5.

That being said, if it was me, for 5 people, I may stay in an one bedroom at one of the resorts that require fewer points per night. I think AKL, OKW, and SSR’s one bedrooms are all around the same points per night as a POly Lake View and would give you almost double the space of a studio. I value space though, so understand if location is the bigger factor for you.

Enjoy the trip - it will be wonderful wherever you end up!

We're actually moving to a 1 BR at OKW after Poly. A couple nights in a Deluxe Studio works better with the points I have available.

The SSR studio sofa/murphy is a double bed while Poly has a queen for the second bed.

I’m not bashing PVB studios. They do have more room. When we stayed in a PBV studio a few years ago, when the sofa bed was open, the room felt no larger than a studio at BWV or SSR, but the bathroom is much larger and the entry way. OKW studios felt much more roomy, but they are a different layout than the traditional WDW Studios. While I haven’t stayed in a SSR studio since the refurbishment. Several videos of the SSR studios they state it is a queen size Murphy bed. I guess they could be wrong or they could be correct. But a full bed is 75” wide and a queen is 80” wide. The SSR studio has about 18” to the slider, while PVB studio is against it. I also think the new VGFII studios while even larger than PVB studios, will not feel much larger. While we do not have a true layout yet. I don’t see DVC changing the existing layout of those rooms. So it with just be a single bathroom with one shower. We will find out next year.

I don't think you've been bashing it but overall Poly studios do have more space including in the living area. There are keys to look at - the side tables and then knowing the sofa size are the main ones. And people have shown the difference in width when folding out the murphy bed at Poly and comparing to VGF at least and there's somewhere in the range of 12" more width and that really is where more of the additional space comes from. I don't know for certain on SSR but the website still lists the sofa/murphy bed as a double which is what it was prior to the renovation. I think that all DVC studios had double sofa sleepers in their studios up until VGF perhaps?

We just did three nights at PVB in November with 3 adults and two kids (9 & 7). I never felt crowded or like we didn't have enough space. This was the second time we've stayed there. The first with just the four of us. PVB is also my home resort so I'm biased. I love the vibes there, it's so relaxing.
